Lyrica Honeybloom

"The girl's foolhardy, stubborn as an oak, and thinks she knows much more than she does. But damn, if I've never met someone so loyal and willing to help. Her spirit will save her when her wits get her in trouble." - Sir Oreander Claye
Lyrica Honeybloom is a Lagombi (rabbit-folk) girl from a poor village in Ikarell. Like most lagombi, she came from a large family with many siblings, and spent her youth helping on the family farm. When she became an adult in the eyes of the community at age eight, she ventured to the nearest large town with her father to trade goods. This experience set a fire in her heart, filling her with a great need to travel beyond the confines of her small village, meeting new kinds of people and seeing new kinds of place. Lagombi live brief lives, most often no more than forty years, and Lyrica intends to use her time as best she can, exploring and seeing all that the World has to offer.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Lyrica stands slightly shorter than most of her family - about 3'3" - but still has the lanky limbs typical of a lagombi. She's got short, fuzzy brown fur flecked with grey and black, and white fur on her hands, feet, tail, and chin. She has kind brown eyes, large ears that stand upright, and a button nose. Like most of her species, she moves about with a lope, hopping along while others walk.

Personal history

Lyrica was born in a village called Brandyburg, a farming town with a population barely over one-hundred. She spent her youth bouncing through the fields of cabbage and squash with her two siblings, pretending to be great adventurers and heroes from the folktales. Her father had acquired a few books when trading crops in the nearby towns, and Lyrica took to them like a flame to a candle. Her favorites were the tales of brave warriors, questing across the land to vanquish a mighty foe with their trusty companions. The images these books painted of far-away places, dangerous beasts, mighty castles, dashing romances, and mysterious magics pooled in her head and took over her dreams.   She and her siblings spent their juvenile years helping out on the family farm, never venturing so far you couldn't see the town's mill. When they became old enough to finally travel with her father to town to trade goods, she leapt at the chance. A day's journey away meant a night in an inn, an exciting experience for a girl who'd never slept anywhere but her own home. It was also the first time she'd met anyone not like her. Brandyburg was a town full of lagombi, and most travelers were other small species. While they ate dinner at the inn, she couldn't help but scan the room, looking at all the interesting kinds of people who stopped in for a meal or a bed. Was this what the rest of the World was like?   Shopping the next morning led to even more excitement. The goods that made their way even to a town this small filled her mind with images of where they might come from. There were dried foods she'd never heard of, clothes and goods from far-off regions, and new books to read. What truly caught her eye, however, was a map on the wall behind an alchemist's counter. Brandyburg was so small, it wasn't even noted. The town she was in had clearly been written by the alchemist. Were the places whose names dotted the map truly so much bigger that neither place she'd been was even a thought? What a thing to imagine.   This journey, small as it was, stuck with Lyrica for weeks. She couldn't stop talking about it to everyone she encountered, much to the chagrin of her parents and siblings. Luck came through for Lyrica when a traveling mouse-folk knight named Sir Oreander arrived in Brandyburg one day looking for a bite to eat. She peppered him with questions about his journeys, what sort of quests he'd been on, and where he was venturing to next. Oreander was polite and answered her questions, but told her he had to be going soon. She lept to her feet, declared herself his new squire, and rushed home to pack her things. Oreander was stunned. He could use the help, but she was so vastly inexperienced. Lyrica's family bid her a safe journey the next morning, after much discussion at the dinner table, with the promise she'd return by harvest season.   Lyrica and Oreander have ventured together for a few months now. He does his best to teach her about the World, and in return she carries his pack and keeps them both well fed. Though they've run into their fair share of trouble, they each know they can count on the other.
