Lagombi
The small and energetic lagombi resemble wild rabbits in shape, with long feet and short, fuzzy fur. With the same keen senses and powerful legs, they move around and act like wound-up springs.
One of the most populous and far-spread of all species, lagombi can be found in nearly any settlement or city. They seem to have unnaturally good luck, and often find themselves just a few hops away from danger during an adventure.
Quick Footed and Quick Witted
Lagombi minds seem to work in doubletime. They think fast, talk fast, move fast, and often act rashly. From the perspective of many other species, they're always amped up and can't seem to settle down. From the lagombi perspective, their larger neighbors and friends are moving at half speed and talk so slowly it's irritating. You can tell a lagombi is bored when they begin tapping one of their large feet on the ground rapidly. Rather than walking, the preferred method of locomotion for most lagombi is a series of quick, short hops - moving the distance of two or three steps in a normal bound, and leaping five feet or more each bounce when they're in a hurry.Just About Everywhere
Lagombi families tend to be massive - mothers typically have at least four children at a time, and as many as eight at once have been recorded by many a wetnurse. Kids grow quickly to full size and help out around the house or business, often helping raise the next litter of their siblings. It's common for at least half of a family's children to leave the house by the time they're eight or nine years old, striking out on their own and traveling somewhere new. Those children will have many children of their own, some of whom will venture out to a new town like their parents did. Nearly anywhere you travel in the World, you can be sure you'll meet many a lagombi.Always Lucky
It's said that a lagombi is always two steps from danger, but never in its way. Of course, this axiom doesn't hold true every time, but there's a sense among other species that the rabbit-folk are unnaturally lucky. The lagombi attribute this innate "luck" to the mythical ancestor of their people, a massive rabbit with antlers, wings, and sharp fangs. This heroic figure was able to bound across the World in a single jump, could hold the sun and moon in the sky with his antlers, soar on the winds with his wings, and defeat any danger with his powerful bite. It's said that when this great hero died, his spirit flew into the sky to watch and protect his children and their descendants. It's a common sight during religious festivals to see lagombi adorned with fake antlers or feathers sewn into their clothes, invoking the image of this folk hero. Table intro table hereLagombi Names

Stories go back as long as written records, telling the tale of a lagombi hero who becomes part of the moon. Depending on where in the World you hear the tale, the details vary greatly. In some renditions, the hero of the story carried the sun into the sky on his back, burning up in sacrifice to bring light to everyone below. For this sacrifice, his spirit was collected up and rolled into the moon, lighting the night as well. In other versions, the God was tired after flying through creation for so long, and a tiny lagombi was the only one to give the God respite. In return, the God scooped her up and placed her on the moon, so she could watch all of creation from above.New Homes, New Adaptations
Lagombi originally come from Adressia, a region of open grassland and wide spaces. They evolved to suit this climate - one where hopping lets you cover the open plains quickly and avoid your large neighbors. As the lagombi quickly spread across the regions of the world after the Moot, they adapted in different ways to the new regions and climates they were in. If your lagombi character comes from a different region, how did their ancestors adapt over time? Are they stout with longer fur for cold climates, or are they even lankier than the average lagombi, helping them stay cool in hot places?
