Andolian Frostclaw

Picture from Warhammer 3
In the far northern reaches of the kingdom of Wysteria, there is an animal native only to the Icefields of Andalon. The Andolian frostclaw is a huge bear of pure white, with two foot tusks protruding out from their mouths. The bear stands on it's hind legs and reaches somewhere between 10 and 12 feet, although there are legends of a 15 foot one who remains wild in the icefields.

The locals who have settled the land have been able to pseudo-tame a handful of these magnificent beasts. They are used to navigate the icefields relatively safely, as well as they have managed to train them to participate in battle tactics and mounted warfare. The people who have managed to train and create a strong bond between themselves and their frostclaw are part of the unit stationed in Rimehealm which has come to be known as the Raiders of Andalon.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Andolian Frostclaws are huge bears that stand up on average at 10 to 12 feet. Their thick, double coat is white, with ice blue highlights to help them blend in with the snow. Large, 2-foot tusks protrude from the front of their mouth, curling up, and often being used to tether reins for riding. Their eyes are dark, almost black, to help with the blinding properties of an arctic environment. Generally they weigh in somewhere between 1,300 lbs to 2,000 lbs (1 ton), and are mostly muscle and insulating fat to keep them warm in the frigid environment.

Ecology and Habitats

Andolian Frostclaws were discovered deep in the Icefields of Andalon, and they have not been found anywhere else. They thrive in below zero temperatures, and survive off of the beasts one may find in the icefields (e.g. yetis, seals, frost worms as a pack).

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are carnivores, and their favourite food is the tender and blubbery meat of narwhals.
