Magic
The casting of art of casting spells is referred to as magic.
Casting a spell has 3 basic phases
- Manifestation - often the longest phase, in which the spell's components combined together to form a physical manifestation of the spell which typically appears like the raw form of the element of the spell.
- Hold - the physical form of the spell is held by the mage, either in their hand or in a spell focus. The spell at this stage is unstable and may have a number of disastrous effects if allowed to decay.
- Release - the spell is released by the caster and takes effect
- Wizards - mages that learn magic through study and practice.
- Sorcerers - a type of wizard with innate talents for casting spells of a certain elements, but consequently have no comprehension of how to cast the others.
- Pact Mages - mages that call upon a patron to cast spells for them.
- Warlock - mages that siphon magic essence from magical places or people and use it as their own.
