Books

Books provide knowledge in this world. They are necessary to learn glyphs, enchantments, and information about enemies, plants, religion, etc. A scholarship check is necessary to be able to read and absorb the information contained in the books.
Librarians and Libraries have are held in high regard by most people in Rhunec. The most famous of course, is The Library at Heim and it's overseer, the First Librarian. Libraries will loan out books to anyone who, in good faith, will return the book in good condition. Those who borrow books and never return them or even destroy the books, are hunted ruthlessly by the Librarians. All Librarians are trained to fight. If books are not returned or they are destroyed, a person can be black listed from the Libraries. Also, in severe situations, Librarians will form a large group and hunt down offenders.
