The Secret Rituals of Soul Capture

At the impetus of death, the soul begins its journey. Some fight against it, hoping for more time with Rhina, and a fewer some posses allies or power enough to actually fight it. Most simply want to feel less powerless in their final moments. Through soul capture, it is theoretically possible for ones soul to remain in Rhina past their body's natural death. This is an interference in the natural order, and the ramifications for this meddling are unknown.

Attuning

Theoretically, to perform the ritual of soul capture, one must attune to a meaningful magical source. This may be a crystal or gemstone but it may also be a dagger, a preserved flower; the recipient must pick the item themselves. There should be a connection between the recipient and the item, even if it is only instinctual. If the correct item is present, it should be obvious what the correct choice is, otherwise the recipient should continue searching for their item.   Attuning requires a ritual which can be performed ████████ with ████ █████ ████████ ███. A connection to another being is considered critical for the ritual, as only this being will be able to release the recipient's soul. This is all that is still known about the ritual.   After attunement is complete, the recipient need simply carry their soul item with them until they die. It is not clear if the item should be worn over the heart, near the head, or at another source. Perhaps it depends on the recipient.

Soul release

The original purpose of the ritual of soul capture was to allow the recipient to be released at a later time. It is not clear how the release was meant to work as almost nothing is still known about the ritual for attuning. All that is clear is that a designated being could release the soul at a later moment.
I wished that I could be released on the shores of Skaia where I grew up, Kjos. I wanted my soul to be carried across the ocean on its journey as I never did in life.   I wished that my patients could have their ones around them when the small soul-catchers came to alight on their bodies. I wished that our knights could come home. I wanted them all to have their peace when just a little more time could help provide that.   But I was wrong to ever attempt soul capture. These notes are far too dangerous in the wrong hands-- and they will find those hands as the wrong things always do. So although I think I have found the last piece, made the final breakthrough, I will not test it. I must find the most permanent way to destroy these notes.

Access & Availability
The ritual of soul capture was developed with the purpose of offering a further peace to death. However, immediately upon completion, Citlalicue realized the immense damage and pain that could be caused by soul capture. She swore her pupils to secrecy, practically locking them in her clinic. She burned all records of the ritual and never performed it for anyone.
Discovery
Soul capture was developed by Citlalicue and her pupils in Skaia.
