The Legacy Curse

The Legacy Curse that has plagued Eden for the last 250 years is infamous in Revelation. Stories and legends abound throughout all circles about the Cursebreakers, the cause of the curse, and the complications that have arisen since then. Whether or not these various rumors are true depends on who you're talking to; what is clear is the damage it has done to Eden, economically, theologically, socially, and politically.   Economically, Eden is ruined. Originally a agricultural titan, tourist destination, and religious exporter, nothing remains of those economies. Eden is left with a crippled agriculture, a new practice of strip mining, daredevil adventurers, meddlesome scholars, and an incredible amount of debt.   Further, many of the rumors about the origin of the Curse orbit around the theory that Eden, once god-touched, is now forsaken. The Church of Wardens  has little to say on the matter other than that faith and perseverance in these troubled times are critical.   The upper echelons of society are delighted. It is not uncommon for the elite of the world to travel to Eden to extend their lives, letting their wealth buoy them above the effects of the curse. The lower classes wallow in poverty, abandoned and pushed down even further by a dramatic increase of the wealth disparity now rampant in Eden. Refuge is a testament to this, a huge shanty-town on the edge of the desiccated Redrot Forest.   The debt and lack of any influence have forced Eden into the least global power, the few leaders not drunk on wealth and prolonged life reduced to grovelling for aid that has dwindled over the years. Now, if there is any possible interest in Eden on a national level, it is not friendly, aside from the token sympathies.   Last, the only rumors that are widely believed are that Eden is on its deathbed, Cursebreakers are fools, and if the Cleric and Waldhramm couldn't break the curse so many years ago, there is no hope left. The only thing known for sure about the Legacy Curse are the sterile wastelands, long lives, and that it is all wrapped up around the Denizen of the GODs Garden.

Transmission & Vectors

The Legacy Curse appears to be bound to the borders of Eden. What determines these borders is unknown, but they have not changed for 250 years.
