Suifeng
The Capital City of the Empire of Myeon, straddling the great Suiliang River, Suifeng sits proudly in the heart of the Empire. At its Northernmost end stands Noongate, which contains the central bureaucratic complex, the Imperial Bank, and the legal courts, and just beyond stand the gates of the Imperial Palace, itself nearly a city in its own right.
Districts
Suifeng boasts eleven districts; at its heart, the Sun Plaza holds the Grand Cathedral and the homes of the Bishops, those nobles who are not privileged to reside in the Imperial Palace but still remain high in Imperial favor, and the wealthy untitled elite. A home in the Sun Plaza is something to boast of; it nearly guarantees that you have, if not the Emperor's ear, the ear of someone who does.
Close to the prestige of the Sun Plaza lies Moonheart, where most nobles keep their city homes. It is bordered by Evengate, the main artistic and artisanal district, as well as Prince's Gate, Sea Valley, and Star Borough, the lesser administrative district.
Across the Suiliang River from the Sun Plaza, Dawnford and Noongate stand, as well as the two gates to the Imperial Palace — one, only for use by the Emperor and those he favors, and the other for the common folk and laborers.
Finally, just outside the southern and western walls, Scribes' Field and Cloud Tower lie; due to an ancient prohibition that kept astrologers from working inside the city, Cloud Tower houses astrologers, fortune-tellers, and matchmakers. Scribes' Field serves as a quieter haven for students and academics, away from the bustle of the city, with Suifeng's greatest libraries and bookstores lined up along the wall.
