Naming Conventions
The naming conventions across Renereach are varied. A large amount of people do not have or use surnames at all and it is generally a cultural thing if they choose to do so - most surnames come from clan or tribe names or used to mark people as part of a specific group moreso than family-based. A surname is not legally required in any country aside from Disaca.
As marriage is not a concept, surname sharing works a little differently. Usually, someone will take on a surname when they join a long term partnership of some kind, such as joining them in ruling an area, joining a clan or tribe, or becoming part of an extended religious unit.
First names vary between race and country, of course. One can identify a native Pa'asilan by the fact that they almost always have 3 or even 4 first names. Drosse from Aturya, however, will often have one, one syllable, simple name.
Those coming from clans may use their clan name in place of a last name, for example, a Drosse named Tey from clan Pinedry may call themself Tey of Pinedry. This is most common among Drosse and Nathi. It is also fairly common for royalty or people in major leadership positions to take their country in place of a surname. For example, Jacody, previous king of Ilye, was known as Jacody of Ilye.
