Elven Longsword

There is no need to sacrifice elegance and overall beauty of design in order to make a weapon that can slice through flesh. While some may lament the lack of brute force accessible with this fine blade, they neglect to see that warriors who are graced with agile bodies as well as minds can do significant damage with the elven longsword.

Significance

It is said that Omal himself helped design the blade. Until that point elves were using the curved "moon" blades and family rapiers as their primary personal armaments. But the longsword became the standard for the elven warriors afterward.    To most other races, the long slender blades look like they couldn't take too many hits before breaking, but that is far from the case. Elven longswords are just as strong as their counterparts, but lack the hilt length for two handed wielding. Instead the warrior focuses on agility in combat.    Brass Elves eschew using the longsword and stick with the traditional scimitar or moon blade. They see an elf using a longsword as a corruption of their culture and betrayal to Yeno.

Rarity
This blade is commonly seen in the hands of Elves . Many of them are trained in both the rapier and longsword, and can use either according to fighting style.   While other races may make use of the weapon, it does require some adaptation of style, or training by an elven warrior to utilize fully.
Raw materials & Components
Elven longswords are made to be light and strong. While the process isn't necessarily a secret, they don't openly declare how it is done. Dwarven smithies claim an infusion of Yeno's stone is what gives the Elven longsword (and rapiers) their lightness and strength. But facsimiles made from steel can approximate the blade well enough (but an elf can always tell the difference).
For the purposes of the game, the elven longsword is a Finesse weapon that does 1d8 slashing damage. It is not versatile.
