Brass Elves
"They may have once been normal elves, children of Yeno. But time spent as slaves to the powers of the north have changed them. Their skin is metallic in color, their eyes colder than metal, and their determination is fierce. I have never faced their like before. The Brass Horde is stronger because of them, and for all our words about peace and harmony, they care for one thing only - revenge."
- a Southern elf traveler relating his experience with northern cousins.
Culture
Major language groups and dialects
While most Brass elves speak elvish, the dialect is very strange sounding to southern elves. It can be difficult to follow especially if they are speaking quickly.
Culture and cultural heritage
While they share many of the same core beliefs as other elves, they seem to be less concerned with nature and the world around them. Brass elves focus more on glory, honor and bravery. They are convinced that they can restore the ancient kingdoms of the elves, and use the horde to do it. They always keep in mind the fact that they were a slave race to humans before the cataclysm and use this to fuel their anger at other races, especially the ones they see as usurpers to their power.
Shared customary codes and values
Elven superiority over all, and Brass elf entitlement over their southern "free" brothers.
Common Dress code
All brass elves wear some kind of brass on their person, either as armor or jewelry. They also wield weapons that appear to be brass in nature, but are some strange alloy.
Common Taboos
Any romantic relationship with the usurper races (humans, halflings or dwarves) if completely and utterly forbidden. Both parties will be executed if this is discovered.
Common Myths and Legends
Brass elves believe they are most beloved by Yeno, their great goddess. They feel that they were tested by her, forced to gain the true knowledge that came with their fall, slavery and rise. It has turned into a love/hate relationship with the goddess. They will often speak her name as a curse, as quickly as a blessing.
Major organizations
Most Brass elves can be found as part of the Brass Horde. They form a large number of the fighters and administration within the group.
