Dwarves
Created by Ashtyr but guided by Denyo
Denyo’s beard, you’ve obviously been smoking too much of the halfling’s leaf. You ask a human for advice in assailing a stone fortress? Let me tell you something about that pile of rocks, any dwarf worth his salt could tell you that it is weak on the west side. A good set of sappers could topple that in a matter of days. But you know something else, I can tell you that that barbican is only one or two good catapult strikes away from collapse. Save you some time right now to get some proper dwarven siege weapons in place and targeting that gatehouse. You’ll be in the keep within the week. If you bothered to ask the DWARF sitting right next to you.

History
Dwarves are said to have been created by Ashtyr to act as the holders of the mountains and the stone. During the fall of the Second Age, it is said that many bands of chaotic elves and First Folk created strongholds in these places. Humans didn’t have the skills necessary to assail these.
Ashtyr created Denyo, the first of the Dwarves. She gifted him with the wisdom of stone, gems and lava. He was hale and strong. Pleased with his vigor and enthusiasm, she created more like him - the dwarven people.
When Red Talon and her band, including the Dwarven hero Thedren Silverlight, cast down the chaotic elves, Denyo asked his Goddess to create grant a land to his people. She agreed and with the help of Kor reshaped a portion of Reluria for them. It became Denyo’s anvil, and it is there that the three main dwarven kingdoms lie: Exur, Yorith and Vonkur.
