Iron Rain

The Iron Rain is a natural phenomenon that seems to happen on The Surface of the planet of Reldaz. This phenomenon is not understood in the slightest as to why it happens. There are, of course, multiple theories as to why it happens, but nothing has been confirmed. 
The Iron Rain is a weather phenomenon where instead of normal water, large iron shards rain from the sky. The size of the shard do vary but on average they are about a foot to a foot and a half long and very sharp. This phenomenon is the reason why almost no life exists onThe Surface of Reldaz.

Manifestation

What originally appears to be slightly dark storm clouds at first, the first sign that this is not normal rain is the sound the clouds make when they travel in the sky. Smaller clouds sound like wind chimes. Larger clouds sound like a thousand steel bars blown by a gale. They are extremely noisy, which thankfully makes them easy to detect. 
Once the Iron rain starts, the sound becomes that of a million nails falling from on high. With big enough storm clouds, it is very easily enough noise to deafen a creature.
