Guild of Mages

Responsible for all arcane studies and teaching, The Guild of Mages has many roles within the city. Most spell casters either work for, worked for, or went to a school run by the Guild of Mages.

Structure

The Guild of Mages is a highly organized guild. Members of the guild are first divided into different groups based on the type of spell caster that they are (Wizard, Sorcerer, Cleric, Paladin, Ranger, Warlock, Druid, Bard). From there, they are further divided into different roles that the individual must apply to in order to quire the position. Members of that positon determine your capabilities, and determine if you are worth of the position from there.    The Guild leader is also found in a similar fashion. Anyone within the guild can apply to the the Guild Leader. The former Guild Leaders assess the abilities and skills of the applicant and then determine who would be the best for the job from there.

Culture

Mages tend to be a bit elitist due to their command over the arcane. As such, a lot of citizens tend to view mages as kind of snooty as a result. Mages do provide a lot of advancements and services to the general public, so the general public tends to put up with their elevated confidence seeing it as a "necessary evil". Mages are still bound to the laws of the city with their studies and reserach, and tend to butt heads with Enforcers as a result for Mages who want to do something unethical. Granted, there are lots of locations outside of the city for unethical research where only Delvers dare travel.

Public Agenda

Mages provide a plethora of services to the city thanks to the arcane abilities:   1. Provide schooling to those who wish to learn or have arcane abilities.   2. Enchantment services for Enforcers, Delvers, and others who would have use of them   3. Research various topics and ideas for the betterment of the city.   4. Search for arcane threats with Enforcers in the name of protection

Assets

The Guild of Mages is not exempt from any taxes. However, the reason for this is because often the services they do provide are either supplemented by other guilds, or are generally expensive. The schools must be paid for by the students or their parents in order to get proper arcane education. Research topics can be funded in order to gain first access to the results of said research.
