Purple Tea

Purple tea is a form of tea leaves from the Trenisian tea plant, which can also produce silver tea. The plant, and therefore the tea leaves, are indigenous to the planet Trenise but have been imported to several other planets in the Xaro System.
There are many varieties of purple tea. In general the leaves are a very dark purple, almost black, and create an indigo colour infusion. Sometimes silver tea leaves are added to purple tea leaves to create a much lighter colour infusion, called "pearly purple tea". Purple tea is a little lower in caffeine than black tea, and much lower than silver tea. The taste is unusually sweet, and aromatic, almost floral for some varieties.
Purple tea is more popular than silver tea, and sometimes drank with milk but rarely sweetened. It can be sold flavoured, such as with added fruit or flower petals. It is an important ingredient in nadi pie, giving the filling its distinct flavour.
