Brett is a Grand Magister, and the Head of Magical Records, which is based in Mentross. She handles and oversees information concerning magic types and variations, as well as any anomalies, and records them. However, Brett left that life behind when she faked her death, and only took her bodyguard to the Outskirts.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Brett is somewhat heavy-set, but is fairly muscular. She is generally healthy and has no chronic diseases or detractors.
Facial Features
Brett has a square-shaped face, but is smooth in features. She has almond-shaped eyes, and resembles her mother in features, and her father in coloring.
Identifying Characteristics
Brett had pierced ears, but the holes have since healed, leaving a small scar on each ear.
Special abilities
Brett is a change-type mage, like her mother. She can effect any object in eyesight, herself, or any object that she is magically linked to. The one exception is an object with a transparent soul, since two separate magics cannot mix.
She can change an object in any way, whether altering the shape, speed, color, or any other aspect of the object. Brett can't change something that is not there, however, and the more prominent a change is, the harder it is to make.
Brett's magic is bound to blue glowing runes, which she has to configure to her purposes when she wants to change something.

Personal history
Brett was born into a politically dominant family, the Second and Third Seat of the Celestial Court. Her mother and father, Slate and Errick Mardones, had married for prestige and leverage in the public eye, not love, and so they were more often separate than not. Brett's parents tended to be very hands-off when it came to their children, and so Brett was mostly raised by her tutors, her older sibling, and the rotating security guards that watched the household.
When Brett manifested her power as a flashier version of her mother's magic, Slate began to take notice of her. Brett and Slate worked together between school and other activities to grow Brett's magic to its fullest potential. Brett became very talented very quickly, and soon began to catch people's eyes as a potential Grand Magister.
In addition to her interest in magic, Brett also showed a proficiency for politics and government work. As Brett grew older, she enrolled in a Collegiate famous for producing effective government workers, and even more famous for rejecting nearly ever person that applied. Brett coasted through her classes with relative ease, and graduated not at the top of her class, but relatively close.
Slate had assured her daughter that when Brett graduated, she would receive an invitation to become a Magus, not just to the applicant pool. As the time came, Slate turned out to be correct, and thus Brett was one step below the Magister rank she had been dreaming of.
As time passed, Brett seemed to bypass all the difficulties of attaining the rank of Magister, and soon settled into her position with poise. When Brett managed to work her way up into the Head of Magical Records, many people whispered that Slate had bought Brett her position in society, and that she was only a puppet for the Second Seat of the Celestial Court. When Brett caught wind of these rumors, she began to worry that she really was only a marionette for the plans of her mother.
As Brett began to settle into her seat as Head of Magical Records, Slate began to ask for a favor. Not many, just one thing. The access key to a small and secret vault in the Restricted Records section. A vault that no one had access to, not even the Second Seat of the Celestial Court. Brett refused, citing the restriction as the reason for refusal. Slate tried pleading, bribery, and even blackmail, but Brett didn't budge.
Finally, Slate resorted to threats. Things that mothers should never say to their children. Brett finally woke up to the situation, and realized that her mother was serious about this, and that the rumors of puppetry and such were true. There was no place in Mentross, or even in the Inner Cities where her mother could not find her, so Brett gathered only essential gear and her bodyguard, and booked a trip under a different name to the Outskirts.
On the second train out, she met Carmentis Asani and her group. Brett mentioned that she really had nowhere to go, and Carmentis offered to let Brett roam with them. Brett realized that without a fixed location, she would be that much harder to find, and accepted.

Brett graduated from Port Virtual Primary and Secondary Educational. She also graduated from Potentia Proper Collegiate, with a Rank in Record-Keeping and a Minor Rank in Magic Management.
Employment
Brett often showed an interest in politics and government work. She was accepted as a Magister, a rank below Grand Magister, fresh out of her Collegiate, and could have continued solely with that line of work. Two years after Brett was accepted as Magister, her mother encouraged Brett to take on the position of Head of Magical Records.
Brett applied for the position among several others, and was accepted. She worked well in her area while she was there, and fostered good relationships with her subordinates, despite complaints that she wasn't qualified for the position.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Brett has graduated from Potentia Proper Collegiate, a conference incredibly hard to get into, achieved the rank of Magister, and became the Head of Magical Records, a high government position, all in her early twenties.
Failures & Embarrassments
Brett has had no major public failures excepting her sudden disappearance. However, whenever Slate would introduce her to fellow Court members, Brett would often trip over her words, or otherwise embarrass herself and her mother. Brett also went through a rebellious phase in her Collegiate, piercing her ears and otherwise.

Brett is an incredibly intelligent person when she wants to be, and is strategically talented as well. She also possesses incredible magical power, and is incredibly adept at using it. However, Brett isn't good at talking to people with any sort of pressure, and isn't very good at making typical conversation with people she isn't comfortable with.

Brett has a one-track mind, and can bring any of her ideas to life easily. She also is kind at heart, and has a strong moral compass. Brett knows how to consort herself with poise, and can easily navigate the noble crowd.
