The Red Harbingers
The Blood Pact is a chaotic
conglomerate of vampires, entrenched within the veiled corners of
Arborian societies. A stark contrast to the symbiotic philosophy of the
Crimson Concord, the Pact unabashedly embraces its vampiric nature. They perceive mortals not as equals, but as fodder, a means to satiate their insatiable thirst. To the members of the Pact, humans are merely prey, and they are the rightful predators. No effort is made to cloak their nocturnal hunts, they brazenly prey on settlements and wanderers under the cover of night, particularly in the less fortified territories.
Their vampirism is not a curse to them, but a divine blessing. They view themselves as the apex of existence, superior to humanity in every facet. By this doctrine of dominance, they believe they should command the pinnacle of the food chain, not skulk in the shadows of their lessers. They prophesy an impending downfall of humanity and the ascension of vampire kind, ushering in a new era, the
Age of the Blood Moon.
Purpose & Opposition
Their audacious operations do not go unchallenged. The Blood Pact's primary enemies are the very humans they deem as cattle, especially the relentless holy orders such as the
Inquisition of
Ardechia and the
Paladins of
Sturmgard, who zealously hunt them for every life they drain. Yet, the Pact remains unyielding. They have mastered the art of hit-and-run assaults, leaving their pursuers in a whirlwind of confusion and terror, weakening human society with each unchecked attack.
However, their greatest antagonists are their vampiric kin, the
Crimson Concord. This organization poses a relentless opposition, working tirelessly to counteract the Blood Pact's machinations. They clean up the bloody aftermath of their attacks as to cover up vampirism, thwart their strategies, and even exterminate members of the Blood Pact to prevent an escalation that could alert humanity to the true vampiric threat. Such cooperation with the 'lesser beings', in the eyes of the Blood Pact, is nothing short of heresy.
Unyielding in their prophecy of the Blood Moon Age, the Blood Pact believes that the key to the cataclysm they yearn for lies in the reclusive
Witch Queen. They are convinced that if they can spill enough blood, maybe via mass sacrifice or starting a war, if they can awaken her madness with the scent and power of the carnage, she will once again unleash destruction upon
Arboria. And from the ashes of devastation, they believe, a new order will ascend, the era of vampires.
