Voyagers of the Wanderer

Through the darkest night,
To the brighest dawn.
'Till my dying breath,
My feet will never rest.     From the fieriest desert,
To the coldest waste.
'Till my dying breath,
My spear will never break.     In the liveliest cities,
In the loneliest forests.
'Till my dying breath,
My heart will never aggregate.     Even if I waver,
Even when I falter,
'Till my dying breath,
My soul will never leave the path.     I'm a shadow, cursed to wander.
A forlorn man, cursed to suffer.     Through suffering, my wrath will ignite,
A shadowed hope, even in the blackest night.     Anguish is my shield, wrath my spear.
Solitude will be my dark cloak,
A dark mantle I'll never take off.     Till the cold grave takes me, I'll be a voyager.     Cursed to wander.       -Vow of Solitude
Voyagers of the Wanderer are an unorganized religious order spread across the known world. It is one of the few religions that doesn't worship to a god or a deity. Wandering, as its followers call it, is a way of life and a vow, as all the voyagers must take the Vow of Solitude.   Voyagers are fierce warriors, roaming the world constantly, and fighting off monsters that are danger to people. They usually do not show themselves to anyone willingly, but as many eyewitnesses say, they're known to generally use spears. They all have cloaks that they use to hide their body and face — showing their face is allowed, but not encouraged unless it is an absolute must.   Voyagers cannot form any bonds with anyone, even with other voyagers. They must forego their name, and simply call themselves "a wanderer." They must always be on the road, unless there's a need for help somewhere. When they take the Vow of Solitude, they dedicate their rest of the life to the Wandering, helping people from shadows, killing stray monsters, clearing nests and such.

Mythology & Lore

The myth of The Wanderer goes back even before the ascension of Raven Queen.   According to the myth, a renowned general to the Storm God Kord, who will later known as The Wanderer, ventured from one battle to another, spreading the influence of Kord during the War of Gods. With many victories, The Wanderer quickly became the most favored general and follower of Kord.   During one such battle, The Wanderer got inflected with a curse from the Undead God Vecna himself. He became immortal, and started to slowly lose his mind to Vecna's influence. When he went back to Kord for help, Kord ordered his other generals to kill him, stating he's beyond saving. The Wanderer, agonized by the unquestioned attack of his friends, ran away.   The Wanderer's pain of betrayal was so agonizing that it suppressed Vecna's influence. Still, the curse was there, and it slowly took away The Wanderer's body. However, he couldn't die. His body slowly decayed, and after a while, completely dissipated. His soul on the other hand, remained intact and alive because of the curse. He couldn't interact with anyone without harming them. People couldn't see him. Every word he spoke hurt people around him, and worse, they couldn't hear him, his words would just give severe headaches to people. He couldn't even touch anyone without burning their flesh.   He then started to roam the world, still believing that he had some use left in this world, and used his curse to slay monsters. He wandered the land, helping people from the shadows, thus taking the name "The Wanderer."   It is believed that he roams the world even to this day, and he will help anyone who have a good heart.
