Aeltari Pantheon

Mythology & Lore

The Tradions of the Aeltari date back to the early founding of the Eltar civilization.  It's origin began with the Brothers Mauru and Tyr, Eltar who were said to have been born on the day the Old Gods died.  By their grace they led their people to expand beyond the woodland realms and to colonize most of the known world.     In time other Eltar would become "Ascended" becoming one with the lands of the Feywilds, and providing guidance to their people.  Just as nature has a cycle of death and rebirth, the Eltar believe that when one of their kind reaches the age of "Accension" they become attuned to the energy of the Old Gods.  They then leave the world and take up the mantle of the god till such a time that another will take their place.

Divine Origins

The belief in the Aeltari came from early teachings of the Eltar, in the old gods, which remained with remote tribes throughout the land. After the unification of the tribes under rightful Kings, a great expansion took place and the gods were forgotten replaced by their own important leaders who would rise to god like status.

Cosmological Views

The world was born from a cosmic womb the origins of which are the Fey Wilds beyond the fairy gates within the wilderness. It is the hope of rebrith every spring that all followers of Risa pray for, and they believe their ancestors reside within the trees, animals and creatures that live with in the forest.

Tenets of Faith

Due to the nature of the of the Pantheon, each deity is respected on the whole, but individuals choose to follow one or another depending on their own view on the Gods impact on their destiny or family tradition.

Priesthood

Individual temples exist to each god, and have their own structure and traditions.  Though there are collective temples to the whole pantheon, they are more of a shared space and monument to the Eltar as a whole.   In remote villages and communities small groups follow more druidic worship, individualized by their own customs and rituals.
