Moti Breti

"The Flames of Heaven is the literal translation in Fel'den. Is that what it actually means in uncertain, but based on the transcription, at least what can be deciphered, there were flames from the sky that struck the ground. This correlates with other cultural traditions with regards to this theorized event. Fascinating."   ~ Beatrice, Chosen of Ioun

Manifestation

The specific time frame for the occurrence of Moti Breti is debated by many scholars. The common consensus is the event took place during the early years in the Age of Umber. The unfortunate reason for the cause of such debates is many of the cultures during that time period passed down their traditions orally.   Most of what is known about the Moti Breti comes from the Fel'den. The Fel'den describe the events of Moti Breti as an apocalyptic event that threatened all life on Aedran. They tell of a red tailed comet that appeared on the eve of the winter solstice. The comet persisted into the morning and stained the sky with a streak of red. As the night set the comet grew brighter and in size.   When the comet eclipsed the moon the Fel'den say that the comet shattered alighting the night sky in a red haze. For the next fortnight the surface of Aedran was barraged with meteors. The Fel'den saw this as the end of days and clung to their loved ones expecting the end to be nigh.   This is where the debate of many scholars starts to vary into theories of what is fact, what is fiction, and what actually happened. Some theorize that this event was created the mirrored planes of the Fey Wilds and the Shadowfell. Some point to circumstantial evidence of alleged craters that date back to the suspected time period of this event. Skeptics point to the fact that the craters have no abnormal residue nor any significant evidence of a supernatural source.
