Tsuki no kokoro

This small island (Offically named 月の心, but referred to by the transliterated Tsuki No Kokoro) in the middle of Lake Michigan was created under license by YAMI Geoworks, and is fully owned by Yatsuda-Mitsu. The island is roughly 1.5 kilometers wide by 1 kilometer long and stands averages a height of 2 meters above lake level. The name translates roughly to "Heart of the Moon" A sizable lake called 月が地球に落ちる (Tsuki ga chikyū ni ochiru, Moon falls to earth) stands at the center of the island that is .5 kilometers in diameter. At the center of 月が地球に落ちる is another smaller island called 月は愛を見つける (Tsuki Wa Ai O Mitsukeru, Moon Finds Love) which houses a smaller lake known as 愛が返される (Ai Ga Kaesa Reru , Love Returned), with a large heart shaped rock set in the center of that lake. The heartstone is known as ハートストーン (Hātosutōn, Heartstone).   The island houses a four story, Edo-style Shinto shrine and a smaller, but similarly designed general use shrine on opposite sides of the central island. The top floor of the shrine provides living quarters for the priests that maintain the shrines and support staff that maintain the facilities on the island. There is a large harbor and docking structure that surrounds the island. This dock has four slips for standard boats, and four slips sized for superyachts. Three of the four slips are occupied by the semi-permanent dockings of privately owned superyachts.   Facilities are provided in the harbor for fueling and minor repairs. Only yacht owners, staff of the island, and YAMI employees are allowed to travel on the island itself.

Fauna & Flora

All of the land of the island (and it's subisland) is covered in rough scrubgrass. Moon Finds Love features a densely planted bamboo forest that is artifically maintained through Neohuman plant and weather control. A small flock of chickens is maintained by the shrine staff.

Natural Resources

The Heartstone is a 45 lb sample of moon rock that has been carved into the shape of an anatomically correct human heart (and then roughened to look natural) and it rests on a marble plinth that stands on the bottom of the innermost lake and rises roughly 2 meters above the surface.

History

Created through a combination of Neohuman abilities and complex geoengineering, the island was constructed on top of six reinforced neocrete pylons that are anchored to the floor of Lake Michigan. Construction was started in 1998, and was completed by 2002. It has been continually inhabited since that time. It is most often used as a private retreat for Yatsuda-Mitsu executives and their families. Notable review is generated by renting out slip space to private yacht owners.
