Session 18
General Summary
Fortune Favours The Fates.
After finishing the fight against the Estaroth cultists, Gustavo Utup promptly finish their dealings with Bobbin as Gustavo hands over a large box from his cloak. Gustavo takes his leave and shortly after the local guards come into the tavern. The guards begin to question the group and Stolas manages to shift most of the blame for the damages onto Bobbin. Bobbin is left to sort things out with the local guard as the group head onwards towards the city of Cresen.
After some research, Stolas discovers that a rune he stole from the cultists is a transportation rune, and with it, he will be able to transport himself to the location that is predetermined in the rune. If he can get it to work.
The Wandering Fortune Teller
On their second night of travel towards Cresen, the party settle in and are greeted by the sound of strange music that slowly plays on the breeze. After some investigation, Yippity and Stolas discover a travelling caravan owned by an old lady name Madame Grimzaar. Grimzaar claims to be a seer and, if the group wishes, she can attempt to read their future.
Each group member decides to have their fortune read, except for Rupert, claiming it to be superstitious nonsense.
Silas's Vision:
"Should fate be kind you will find what you seek, but in finding it, you may risk losing it forever. You are trained and skilled, that much is apparent by the way you fight, but it is important to always aim that skill at those deserving. Only time will tell who you believe is deserving."
Yippity's Vision:
"All that awaits you is pain and misery, this is inevitable. You will fail again and again, but you will always keep trying, for if you stop, it will be for good. A glimmer of hope of what can be attempts to shine through, once you can get past it, the ever-growing itch."
Stolas's Vision:
"A being with powerful potential, a potential that if seen fulfilled will lead many to oppose you, even those closest to you. But your fate can only be designed by choice, on how you use your power, for power is useless if you cannot use it for change."
Aelyse's Vision:
"A light in the darkness you will always strive to be, even when that darkness and corruption spread to unimaginable lengths. Powerful forces wish to make moves in this world, and should you listen, will make those moves through you, whether you know it or not."
Novita's Vision:
"Your fate is hard to read, your future blurred. Your soul consists of five who squabble and claw at a chance to be heard, and together they make the sixth. To lose one, would be to lose a part of yourself. Many dark ones watch over you, some good, some bad and some that would use you for their own agenda. It is important that you form strong connections should you survive the hunt that follows."
As Novita's vision is read, a circle appears around her and Grimzaar as hellish elements begin to creep over the caravan, but they return to normal once the fortune is finished.
The party head back to camp and set off in the morning.
Headache at the Gate
The party find themselves at the southern gate of The Bay of Cresen after a few days travel. Upon attempting to enter the city they find out that the gate is sealed while the Abjurers guild conduct an investigation. They sit back and wait, conversing with each other. At some point during the conversation, Novita begins to have another headache as the haft of the mace calls out to her. She pulls out the haft and is blasted into another vision.
She finds herself in dark ornate tunnels. This doesn't seem like a personal experience but more an experience she witnesses through the mace. As the figure she watches from follows a panicked group of people trying to find their way in this dark space. She hears voices shouting to move quicker and run away from something. One person she sees leans against the wall to catch their breath, only to be grappled and dragged into them by bony hands and fleshy horrors. They begin to be chased by skeletons who are armed. She sees clearer now that these are wizards that are fleeing this scene. A doorway opens up and a withered white Dragonborn rushes to the gate to let people through. A few escape but soon a shadowy mass of death and evil pursues them. The Dragonborn closes the last door and listens as the shadow kills everyone who didn't make it. All they hear is the final words "We shall meet again Dragonborn".
Novita awakens from the vision and as she gains sense of where she is once more, she is greeted by the voice of Annagathar Kaleste who states "I promised we will meet again".
