General Summary
Payments and Plotlines
After finishing the job in the sewers, the group head back to The Custodians where they meet with Zachariah Brook to report their success. They drop off Vincent Darwin Chase and are paid for the job. Aelyse requests an audience with Mallory and Zachariah informs the group that she will be able to meet with them tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime the group should have some downtime.
Downtime in Dravengarde
Stolas visits Vivald's Sorcerous Stockpile, the magic shop in Dravengarde. There he meets Casimir Vivald Helandrius, the owner and discuses magical items and Stolas' magical tattoos. Casimir introduces Stolas to Fenna Quickdraw, his local arcane tattoo artist.
Rupert goes to the auction house of Vespara Shadeweave. He is initially questioned but eventually let in and led to a lounge area where Vespara is currently doing a self portrait. The portrait is expertly done and impresses Rupert as he goes to flirt with her. Vespara stands and suddenly transforms into a pale white Elf looking male. This individual introduces themself as Marceau de Marceau, a renowned painter in Raxodan. Vespara reveals herself from a side area a moment later laughing to herself. She spends the evening with Rupert showing him her collection, a rather wonderful painting of Toggburgen and then bids him goodnight when the hour gets late.
Yippity and Aelyse go on a pub crawl to get to know each other better and are later joined by Novita and Silas. They visit the Highstrung Hag, The Private Bell, The Spicy Melon and the Scary Drumstick. During the evening Yippity opens up over a game of cards, he talks with Aelyse about her origins and her family back in the Forest of Fonvelenor. Novita later discusses her missing body parts and explains that she wants to find the person who killed her.
Headaches... But not from the drinks
While inside the Scary Drumstick, Novita experiences a memory that crashes into her mind. She finds herself inside a forest city, instead of trees there are large mushrooms and a strange darkness aura that dims the sunlight. She sees blood and chaos as armoured Drow fight robed individuals. One particular Drow runs through the streets frantically. She eventually arrives at a burning building where a robed figure stands over dying dogs. Novita's headache gets stronger and she witnessed the haft of the mace she carries, it is carried by an armoured glove and dripping with black ooze. The mace changes shape into a star, that crashes into the ground.
Colton Calls
In the morning Stolas gets a call from the Arramar Academy where Colton Arramar allows him to study inside their Necromancy section. Stolas scribes a few spells and finds some books on Estaroth and Az'ea. In the Az'ea records two notable names come up which are Zaros Burakh and Kaleb Silver known for having protected the city from a cult attack. An undisclosed incident between Kaleb and House Hirziss is briefly hinted at.
Meetings with Lady Mallory
The group reconvenes at The Custodians where they head to the archive for research before their next job. Aelyse meets with Mallory and they discuss the corruption of The Deadwood. It is spreading faster than anticipated and Aelyse seeks to prevent the spread. Mallory brings up a flower that grows within The Wound that may be able to help, but she would need to do more research to be sure. Mallory suggests that in the meantime Aelyse should travel with the group.
In the archive, Yippity is told by a mysterious voice to head to Pelgate Casino, there he must find the Erudite Entertainer and beat him in a game. Yippity begins to head out until Aelyse drags his attention back to the group.
Stolas follows up on the Az'ea research and in the Custodian Archive manages to find a book that has been partly redacted by the Script Seal Spell. The book goes into partial detail about the Estaroth uprising in Az'ea and lists a few names that perished during the fights. The script and information is signed and sealed by a "Zoroan Kelsear", one of The Dragonblood Court lords and ruler of one of the four major houses.
After some more research involving Estaroths mace for Stolas, and Aelyse reading about The Dawnroot Archive, the group head to receive their next job.
