Volcanic Purge

Introduction

The Volcanic Purges of Hallus are described by the First Engineers as a realmic filteration process that presents itself as volcanic eruptions. Primal Fire and Primal Decay are taken into the core to be processed into Coal and Primal Ash. This process causes a build of up of pressure and Primal Ash that has to be released ten years. Though, the SunFade has somehow sped up this process making each purge closer together.

Filteration Process

As Primal Fire and Primal Decay are absorbed into the realm's core, natural processes compress the two materials tightly together at extreme heats. During this compression, the Primal Fire burns away a great deal of Primal Decay leaving behind Coal and a thick, powdery byproduct known as Primal Ash. Overtime, the excess pressure and byproduct builds up to a violent crescendo as the many mountain ranges across Hallus explode releasing massive amounts of Primal Ash.

Increased Frequency

For most of Hallus existance, Volcanic Purges happened every 15 years. During Second Blaze, the frequency was increased to 10 years. Now, after the SunFade, it appears to be increasing in frequency dramatically with the last purge only being 7 years apart.
