Magnum Opus: The Soul

Among all the dozens of discoveries made by Vaeril Keyric, one stands above them all: The discovery and proof of the Sophontic Soul. The experiments required to research this phenomenon were considered vile by his peers but they did little to stop him. When his results became conclusive, the understandings of life, the Divine, and what happens in death were changed drastically.

Souls

The living essence of a Sophontic creature. It is used as a fuel source for the Divine. Notably, it can be found in select non-Sophontic creatures that fall under the Domain of a Divine. Only creatures with a soul can become Unfallen.
