Ratkin Condition in Ravare | World Anvil

Ratkin (ræt'kɪn)

Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats. Rats.

Introduction

This Divine blessing slowly infects the mind, body, and even soul of Sophonts and converts them into near mindless, hive-like half-rats that follow every word spoken from Kreacher's disease-ridden maw. Ratkin seem unable to die of disease, old age, or most wounds and have immense control over Faith magic.

Misc.

  • Beastfolk and Manfolk are highly susiptible to the influences of Kreacher so they make up the majority of the Ratkin population.
  • The fiery Faefolk are seemingly immune and Old Folk are of course completely immune.
  • Both Deadfolk and Blessedfolk are able to be corrupted in a similar fashion but with completely different symptoms.
    • Haunts become walking, rotting nests to breed more rats rather than any physical transformation.
    • Railkeepers seem to be destroyed through the process as their soul is already given to the Lord of the Rails.
  • There is no set look for a Ratkin, they come in all shapes and sizes with different bestial features. The only constant is rampant cannibalism, lack of self preservation, and an urge to destroy.
