Gull (guhl)

Language of Decay

Spoken first by Decay Elementals, Gull sounds like last breaths, the growth of rot, and soft murmurs of those who accept their time has come. Spoken too long and it numbs emotions and decays the will to live on. To learn this most sacred of tongues is forsaken on most realms. Still, without the whispers of Gull, what would encourage fungi to grow, guide souls to Velamus , or to let Life come to terms with its finality.

Primordial Origin

As the first signs of life grew on Putrus, transforming its empty waters into oceans of embryotic fluid, so too did the first signs of decay. It was Crux that taught life how to begin and it was Gull that taught it how to end.

As decay represents the finality of the universe, Gull is the tongue understood by the truly dead. Most Gods of Death, often the children of Lady Death, are tasked with speaking Gull to guide souls to their rightful domains. Without this act, most Realms would no longer be able to sustain more than a single Divine.
