The Frost Sprout is a cerulean bloom of a deep and vibrant azure hue found nowhere else in nature. Each delicate flower sprouts from the end of a deep bluish-purple stalk only found rooted on the leeward facing sides of the Throat of the World's tallest mountains. They commonly are found in hidden caves and cracks that shelter this rare plant from the unforgiving northern climate. Many believe that as few as a dozen of these flowers reach maturity to bloom into breathtakingly beautiful blossoms. This rarity is only further aided by the Frost Sprouts unforgiving growth cycle, which peaks at the harshest and coldest months of the year when travel in the Throat of the World is all but impossible. Many fortune-seeking botanists perish in their vein and misguided attempt to secure a living specimen of this species, and even I have never seen one in person.
