Kabu

The Varied and Small Lizardfolk   A light blue blur rushes along the wall of a cave in the heart of a canyon. Without noise, a slowly moving image disappears before you can see what it is. I brightly colored kite soars over the treetops, but begins to dip and dive into and out of the foliage, completing stunts that no kite, or like object, could complete. After approaching the quiet waters of a large pond you see the sleek reptilian form rush to the surface with a spear in hand, but it is too late to react. There is not an environment that the kabu have not been able to adapt to. These small, humanoid, reptilian creatures seemed to develop alongside the regari, but focused more on the survival of the group over the individual.   Survive or Thrive   As part of the kabu's focus on community they also seemed to find depth in the traits they each adapted. The steka zuhl carried their dependancy on colors on to painting intricate shapes and designs along walls and other surfaces, while the stella rhul developed their maneuverability in the air into an artform, and even use this to gain favor with a mate. The akka ula use their very sensitive digits to create patterns and images in slighlty raised series of lines and bumps.   Once the Splitting of Darrakkeesh occurred and the Darraketts, or the less affectionate name of beastfolk, spread across Rastaag the kabu had found homes in various climates.   **Subraces:** the Kabu are from various biomes in the Primordial realm, and have adaptions to aid in their survival.     #### Akka Ula (Wallwalker) Gecko. Warm climates   **Speed.** Your base walking speed is 25 feet.   **Ability Score Increase.** Your Charisma increases by 1.   **Nimble Digits.** Your climbing speed is 30 feet.   **Keen Eyes.** Advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks using vision.   **Buying Time.** Your tail can detach as defense mechanism. You may exit combat and if damage is taken from Attack of Opportunity it can be reduced to 1 and the tail is removed. This takes 7 days to regenerate.   **Impeccable Climber:** You may use the *Spiderwalk* spell once a day without using a spell slot. This also does not count as a spell affect, as this is a physical trait.   **Unblinking Eyes.** Must sleep w/ eyes covered to gain full resting effects   **Slick Surface.** Some surfaces and climates hinder your natural climbing abilities. Water will cause disadvantage on climbing rolls.   #### Stella Rhul (Skydancer) Draco. flattened bodies, which also aid in flight, and are a mottled brown in color. The undersides of their wings are blue in males and yellow in females. They also have a flap of skin on the bottom of their necks called a dewlap. This is bright yellow in males and bluish gray in females. Lives in trees   **Speed.** Your base walking speed is 25 feet.   **Ability Score Increase.** Your Wisdom increases by 1.   **Natural Acrobat.** Proficiency in acrobatics checks and Dexterity saving throws.   **Nimble Digits.** Climbing speed is increased by 30 feet.   **Limited Flight.** You can fly up to 30 feet. To utilize this you must treat takeoff as a Long Jump or High Jump. You cannot utilize your wings while wearing medium or heavy armor.   **Bite.** Your fanged maw is a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.     #### Sundou Uul (Watereye) Anole   Color change when angry, scared, etc.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Steka Zuhl: tails that are prehensile, a dewlap, spines along back, five digits on their hands with the thumb and index finger opposite the other fingers. Their feet also have five digits with the smallest two set slightly further from the others. These two digits can be flexed inward to help grip while climbing. Strong tongue Most kabu will have more natural colored skin such as shades of greens, browns, or tans like that of leaves, dirt, and bark. There are some that have sea foam green or even bright red. the variety of markings on kabu range even further with colors such as black, browns, blues, and greens to the lighter hues of these as well as white light tan spots, streaks, strips, and other highlights.

Genetics and Reproduction

Ravaging Most kabu will live with a mate in their own domicile and will each have their own tasks to complete in order for the clad to survive. They will breed with their mates, but the entire community will also engage in 'Ravaging's on a regular basis. These rituals are an orgy of all healthy individuals or good standing with the intent of procreation. This is a large part of why the kabu treat all eggs and offspring the same, they are all part of a family that will raise the next generations as a whole.   The steka zuhl differ in this area, as mating is something only two individuals will take part in at a time. Though a single steka zuhl may have multiple mates during the 'Ravaging', they will have multiple days to mate. This period for them is not a single day or night but lasts about a week.

Growth Rate & Stages

Kabu live in large groups, called clads, and typically work as a single unit to protect one another. The eggs are the primary concern of the clad, and every individual takes the same amount of care for each egg as they do the next. If an assault is made on the clad, the kabu will always take care to protect the hatchery in favor of fleeing or finding more desirable grounds for the purposes of defense. They reach adulthood fairly quickly, especially in terms of longer lived creatures. Silentbeam- carry their eggs internally for 10 months before laying them onto the Life Tree at the center of the clad. They hatch ??? weeks later.

Ecology and Habitats

Kabu can find a home in virtually any climate, excluding the cold snowy regions. This is may vary from one tribe, or subrace, to another. Silentbeam- rain forests, savannas, mountains, semi-deserts, and steppes They typically stay in trees or bushes, though some species do live on the ground. dig holes in sand dunes to escape the extreme heat and cold. Some reside in mountains which rise to cloud level and are shrouded in fog. These forests are typically cool, wet, dripping places with little sun

Dietary Needs and Habits

Kabu are primarily foragers and hunters. The specific types of food they consume vary depending on the tribe, subrace, and region. Silentbeam- a diet of insects and birds as well as other small animals, which is supplemented by foraged vegetation.
