Tavern bar/restaurant

Level 9 Bastion Facility: Tavern

A communal space designed for food, drink, and social gathering. Taverns are a cornerstone of bastion life—serving as both a morale booster for the crew and a magnet for travelers, traders, and gossip. A Bastion can have more than one Tavern, but each must be given its own name and identity.

When building a Tavern, you may choose its Specialty's, which determines its menu and reputation. A Tavern can only serve one specialty by default. A Roomy Tavern supports two, and a Vast Tavern supports a total of four.

Space: Decent/Roomy/Vast
Hirelings: 2-5 (Barkeep, cook, and/or servers)
Order: Trade/Investigate

  • When you issue the Trade order, the Tavern opens to locals, travelers, and bastion residents. The work takes 5 days (1 Bastion Turn) and costs 1 Bastion Point, but no money.
  • Pick a specialty from the table below to describe the atmosphere and quality that your tavern provides. You can later change your specialty at a cost of 100 gold, over the course of 1 bastion turn.
  • Roll 4d6X2 to see how much gold is earned. If operating a Roomy tavern, roll 4d6X4, and a Vast Tavern earns 4d6X6.
  • Special Order Investigate: You can ask the tavern to find information based listening into conversation of patrons in the bar. This is paired with the Trade Order, and takes 1 bastion turn.
  • When finished, your tavern will have picked up any information that is reasonable for them to have heard.
  • However, your profits from that turn are cut in half (to account for free drinks, hiring of individuals, and other extra costs associated with attracting the right people through the doors).
