Gods
They do not worship gods, in fact many Philosian Elves beleive themselves to be on par or peers to many of the gods, but a certain respect may be offered to them, particularly the ones listed below.
Defining Cultural Aspects-
- Eternal Contemplation: With centuries at their disposal, Philosian Elves dedicate vast amounts of time to contemplation and philosophical inquiry. They view life as an ongoing journey of learning and understanding, with each individual striving for personal enlightenment over countless lifetimes.
- Cautious Innovation: Despite their long lives, Philosian Elves are hesitant to embrace rapid change or innovation. They approach new ideas and technologies with caution, preferring to thoroughly examine their implications before adopting them. This deliberate approach can sometimes lead to missed opportunities, but it also ensures that any progress is deeply rooted in wisdom and careful consideration.
- Meticulous Craftsmanship: Philosian Elves excel in craftsmanship and artistic expression, taking immense pride in the quality and beauty of their creations. Whether it be architecture, sculpture, or literature, every work is meticulously crafted over decades or even centuries, reflecting the patience and perfectionism of its creators.
- Cultural Conservatism: Due to their fear of death and the permanence of their traditions, Philosian Elves are deeply conservative in their cultural practices. Ancient customs and rituals are preserved with utmost reverence, serving as anchors in the vast sea of time. Any proposed changes to these traditions are met with skepticism and rigorous debate, ensuring that only the most worthy innovations are embraced.
- Hedonistic and Self Fufilment Ideals: Dispite thier conservatism, many embrace hedonism and self fufilment as a way of life. With time being of no issue, there is no hurry to anything, with many only working fro a few hours a day, if that, prefering to spend the majority of their time at leisure. Open relationships, drinking, and use of phycodelic drugs is also generally aceptable, as the seeking of pleasure and self love is widly held as the ideal life.
- Isolationist Tendencies: Philosian Elves are wary of interacting with shorter-lived races, feeling both a sense of superiority and intimidation. They observe with a mixture of awe and trepidation the rapid progress and accomplishments of other races, often choosing to maintain a cautious distance rather than risk being overshadowed or manipulated.
- Rare Births: New births are a rarity in Philosian Elf sociaty, an ocasion that may only occure once a decade or longer across the entirty of Hellinic Shores. This adds to the overall beleif of santity of life, with a child not easily replaced nor replenished. As a result, children are often raised communally in close knit groups that can spread city wide, with everyone having a vested intrest in the future of any given child.
- No Hurry: some of the more odd or annoying side effects of being imortal has resulted in these elves having dificulty relating and understanding the hurry of races with limited time. No menial task is not worth the time it would take to acomplish it, as time is the one resource they have the most of. Spending months or years looking for the perfect paint color, crafting a single arrow, or finding the perfect picnic spot are not at all strange in Philosian sociaty. On the contrary, the concept of a dead line is utterly foreign. Additionally, These elves take an exeptional amount of time to take in and remeber new information, especially small or trivial details. By the time one of these elves remember your name or favorite food, you may be dead 20 years or longer.

Other Notes-
- Philosian Guard: The Philosian Guard, though only 50 or so number, stands as a paragon of skill and precision, boasting the finest training and equipment in the world. With lifetimes dedicated to honing their craft, these elite soldiers are unmatched in their expertise and prowess. However, their deep-seated fear of death renders them hesitant to engage in actual combat, resulting in a lack of real-world experience. Despite their formidable abilities, many view them as merely ceremonial, relegating the dangerous tasks of warfare to expendable goblin auxiliaries. While their prowess is undeniable, their reluctance to risk their immortal lives often leads to their military force being underutilized, serving more as symbols of prestige than active combatants on the battlefield.
- Subservient Goblin Race: The Philosians rule over a subrace of goblins, known as the Thalasso-goblins , who serve as servents, physical labor force, as seen as expendable. Some may even catagorize these goblins as usseful pets to the elves.
History-
- Ancient Origins: The Philosian Elves trace their origins to the ancient civilizations of Lindus, where they emerged as a noble and sophisticated culture thousands of years ago. Blessed with longevity and wisdom, they built magnificent cities and temples dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, philosophy, and the arts.
- Encounter with the Thalasso-goblins: The Philosian Elves first took notice of the Thalassogoblins during The Great Flood, where titanic forces a continent away caused drastic shifts in the water level (this event coencides with the 1st Demonic Invasions on the continent of Rassoron). Large parts of both Goblin and Elvin civilizations were swept away. The goblins were able to adapt, unlike the elves. However the nature of the conflict brought both sociaties together, and a rare relationship was formed.
- Tidal Wars: At this time, a few hundred years after the great floods, the Raiding tribes on the continent began attakcing Goblin villiages. The elves provided sancuary, supplies, and limited warriors to aid the goblins, resulting in the deaat of this southern tribe.
- Cultural Integration: In the aftermath of the Tidal Wars, the Thalassogoblins were fully integrated into elven society, their valor and loyalty earning them a place of honor among their elven allies. Recognizing the contributions of their maritime brethren, the elves welcomed the Thalassogoblins into their cities and temples, where they shared their knowledge and skills with one another. Through cultural exchange and collaboration, the Philosian Elves and the Thalassogoblins forged a bond that transcended race and lineage, uniting them in a common cause. Together, they embarked on a journey of mutual respect and cooperation, laying the foundations for a future defined by peace and prosperity.
- The Age of Renewal: With the aid of their Thalassogoblin allies, the Philosian Elves ushered in a new era of peace and prosperity, laying the foundations for a future defined by cooperation, harmony, and mutual respect. Together, they forged a legacy that would endure for hundreds of years to come, shaping the destiny of Lindus and its diverse inhabitants.
