History-

Ancient Origin and Patronage:

  • Bahamut's origins trace back to the dawn of creation itself. Among the earliest of deities, he emerged as a powerful force representing the ideals of justice, nobility, and protection. He quickly earned the title of the Platinum Dragon, tice, and kindness.

Survivor of the Great Planar Wars:

  • During the tumultuous times of the Great Planar Wars, when cataclysmic conflicts ravaged the divine realms, many ancient gods fell into obscurity or were outright destroyed. Bahamut, however, endured the chaos and destruction, his unwavering resolve and strength allowing him to weather the storm. He emerged from this era as a symbol of resilience and hope, a beacon of stability in a world in upheaval.

The Traveling Platinum Dragon:

  • In the aftermath of the Great Planar Wars, Bahamut's outlook shifted. He chose to leave the divine realms behind and walk the mortal world as a traveler and observer. This decision allowed him to intimately understand the struggles and aspirations of mortals, gaining a unique perspective that few other deities possessed. He wandered through cities, villages, and wilderness, often in the guise of a wise elder or a majestic dragon, interacting with people from all walks of life.

Seeking Exceptional Mortals:

  • Bahamut's travels brought him into contact with exceptional individuals who embodied the very best of mortals. These were heroes, leaders, and adventurers whose actions and character demonstrated unwavering commitment to goodness, justice, and compassion. Recognizing the potential for greatness within them, Bahamut would subtly guide and bless these individuals, offering them the chance to rise above their mortal limits.

Elevation to Godhood:

  • When Bahamut deemed a mortal truly worthy, he would set in motion a divine process that could eventually lead to their ascension to godhood. Through trials, challenges, and tests of character, these chosen mortals would prove their mettle and earn the favor of other deities aligned with Bahamut's cause. Upon successfully overcoming these trials, a mortal could be transformed into a divine being, taking their place among the pantheon as a god or goddess of goodness, often with Bahamut's guidance and support.

Balance in the Cosmos:

  • Throughout his travels and interactions, Bahamut maintained a delicate balance between his roles as a divine patron and a mortal observer. His actions ensured that the forces of good remained steadfast in their struggle against darkness and chaos, and his wisdom guided countless souls toward lives of purpose and virtue.

Features:

  • Unyielding Mercy – When you deal radiant or spell damage, you may choose to reduce the damage by half. If you do, the target is freed from one condition: charmed, frightened, or cursed. Once per long rest.
  • Voice of Judgment – You may cast Zone of Truth as a bonus action once per day. This version is harder to resist: creatures make their saving throws at disadvantage.
  • Legacy of the Five – When you are reduced to 10 HP or fewer, you add your Charisma modifier to all saving throws. Once per long rest, this can prevent you from falling unconscious for one round.

Awakened Form: Bahamut’s Covenant (Level 17–20)

  • +3 to spell attack rolls and save DCs.

  • Warden of Worth (1/long rest):
When an ally within 60 feet would drop to 0 HP, you may use your reaction to set their HP to 1 and teleport adjacent to them in a flash of platinum light. This heals both you and them for 4d8 + your spellcasting modifier HP.
  • Eminent Light:
While attuned, your light and sunlight spells or effects dispel magical darkness automatically. Creatures of evil alignment have disadvantage on saving throws against any radiant damage you deal.

Awakening Trigger:

The Platinum Vow awakens when the wielder acts not just with power, but with restraint—choosing peace when vengeance was an option, or protecting someone they had every right to abandon. Alternatively, the relic may awaken when the bearer helps guide a mortal toward a higher path of redemption or ascension, reflecting Bahamut’s divine role as mentor and evaluator.
