Session 5: Down and Dirty in Tethoris and a Ship?

General Summary

Late in the morning on Jeda 28th the group heads out to prepare for the job from Shadow in exchange for information on the city, Tethoris.

• The fight with the mind-changing rats, while tough, goes well with only Khunbish getting bitten. To Khunbish her arm is bitten, ripped off by and eaten by rats.
• With the fight done the group determines that Khunbish inability to use her one arm is due to a kind of temporary madness.

With the job done the group heads back to meet Shadow and receive their payment while waiting for Khunbish to be able to use her arm once more. Wraith going by the name Mira still goes in alone. After handing over the rats teeth for proof of job completed you learn that:

• Shadow’s name is Shay the Shadow of the Ivory Ghosts, the underground organization within Tethoris.
• These mind-changing rats were not the first ones to inhabit the tunnels within the city. Before and the reason for the collapse of the tunnels was because some humanoid monsters stumbled around with undead following them.
• Underground activity has boomed in the late several years due to the Ivory Ghosts making a contract with some of the nobles within the city.
• The Elderbriar family, the main nobles of the city, began opening bigger trade with the Cebarian people on behalf of the Ereburian King. In more shocking news they have even begun talking to Jaython Hazescar the main noble family in Western Ereburia .

In addition, to a job well done, Shay the Shadow offers to bring the group under her wing should they wish to join the organization. While not outright refusing the offer the group decides to go south in Ereburia in hopes of learning more on Nex’s grandfather, Cassius Nyx and his whereabouts.
On Jeda 29th, Nex wakes up from a dream of a rough night on a ship somehow soaked and chilled to the bone. Shaking the strangeness of the dream off the group sets off for the mountain pass.

• Travelling through the mountain pass Nex uses her knowledge of Druid circles in the area in hopes of getting their help to travel further into the Kingdom. The circle leader agrees and teleports the group to the middle of Ereburia.

During the night of Idwan 3rd, Nex has the dream about a ship on rough waters once more.

• In the dream, Nex finds herself on a ship in the middle of a storm on the sea. The crew are made up of Tieflings, Genasi and Half-elves most of them bandaged up in some way or another. On the ship you see an unfamiliar Tiefling with dark skin, golden eyes and curly black hair pulled back into a ponytail showing off his ram-like horns. Behind him is a man you are familiar with, Farir Meikham. As Farir Meikham and the unknown tiefling talk until he stops when he notices Nex standing on his deck. Confusion rises as the tiefling realizes he is the only one who can see her.
• While Nex is dreaming, once again soaked and shivering a light blue light surrounds her. As Khunbish attempts to wake her the bluish light jumps to her and encases her causing her to fall asleep on top of Nex’s body. Wraith tries the same thing but she to surrounded by the light. Stolas not seeing many options left allows for the light to wrap around him too.

Nex unaware of her group's actions suddenly finds Stolas standing on the deck beside her. Yells from both Wraith and Khunbish fill the air as they fall from the sky into the sea.

• Both Nex and the unknown tiefling jump into the water in the hopes of bringing the two party members underwater onto the ship. The water is dark and unusually hard to swim in however, with the assistance of a water genasi unusual abilities they are able to get everyone back on board.
• The unknown teifling is introduced as Cassius Nyx, Nex’s grandfather. The water genasi’s name is Darya Khibin someone Nex recognizes as someone who was above her father’s ship helping teach his men. In addition to Nex’s realization Zaiden informs Khunbish that both Niraj and Kanishk are aboard the ship.

The following day, the group learns that Cassius has been on the water for a few weeks before Farir Meikham and the others found their way onto their ship somehow. The sea is filled with Leviathan the ship shows its couple of run-ins with them. The group sets out to help out the crew in both repairs and giving them a rest.
