Lord Protector
The title of "Lord Protector" carries great weight in Confederation colonies. The Lord, Lady, or rarely Ira Protector oversees a colony's military, defense, and peacekeeping. They preside over sheriffs, constables, and watchmen as well as soldiers.
Beyond the basics of protecting a colony, they are also responsible for the colony's interests and promoting trade.
Though technically subordinate to the Governor or Govenss of a colony, the Protector's authority does override that of the governorship in times of crisis.
