Within the last 40 years (current year is 997), the armies of Admi have sailed eastward and landed on the southern coast of Jana. Queen Gwyndala, hardened by her defeat and the loss of her homeland, set her eyes on the fertile lands of Jana as the future for her people. Initially, the many races of Jana welcomed the Admians, believing they were refugees seeking peace and coexistence. However, Gwyndala soon saw the true potential of the land—its wealth, magical resources, and strategic position—and began to lay siege to the continent, enslaving those who resisted. Now, the region of New Admi stands as a conquered coastal territory in the southern reaches of Jana, formally part of the Mercian lands. This once lush and prosperous region, known for its fertile fields and abundant fisheries, has been reduced to a war-torn occupation zone. Twenty-seven small towns and villages have fallen to the Admian armies, and their people have been turned into slaves. Admians have erected a massive fortress at the heart of this territory—Gwyndalin Fortress—named after their queen, and it serves as the central command for her expansionist campaign. From this fortress, the Admian armies push ever northward, seeking to seize the capital city of Mercia. While technologically superior and possessing powerful war machines powered by the Jewel of the Sea, they face fierce resistance. The people of Mercia, unaccustomed to war but deeply connected to their homeland’s magic, have formed defensive pacts and alliances. Their magical affinity and intimate knowledge of the land have allowed them to hold the Admian forces at bay, resulting in a tenuous stalemate that has persisted for the past year.Queen Gwyndala’s Ambition and the Conflict’s Future
Queen Gwyndala, though older now, remains a figure of immense power and fear. Having escaped the ruin of her homeland, she is determined that her people will never suffer such a defeat again. Under her command, the Admian military has become a relentless war machine. Gwyndala’s mastery of both magic and strategy has led her to develop new weapons and technologies that push the boundaries of what is possible. Alchemical concoctions, enchanted war golems, and magically-fortified siege engines are just some of the innovations she has unleashed upon Jana. Her ultimate goal is not just the conquest of Jana but to establish a new, unassailable homeland for her people—a fortress kingdom where no demon or enemy could ever again threaten their existence. She believes that only through total domination can her people be truly safe, and she is willing to crush anyone who stands in her way. But there are cracks forming in her empire. The longer the war drags on, the more unrest brews within the ranks of the Admian army. Some Admians have begun to question if endless conquest is truly the path to security, or if they are merely repeating the same mistakes that led to their downfall in Admi. Meanwhile, Gwyndala’s obsession with maintaining control has caused her to become increasingly ruthless, and whispers of dissent grow louder with each passing day.
