Blue Strixhaven Adept {Blue Magic} - InvisibilityDescription
Harper Longquill, a charismatic and free-spirited chaotic neutral non-binary Kender, stands at a height of about 4 feet with captivating blue eyes, auburn hair, and amber skin. Their unique appearance and artistic flair make them stand out in any crowd.History
Raised in a modest household by a single father, Harper grew up surrounded by the love and camaraderie of their six siblings. Their childhood was filled with lively interactions and a deep sense of familial bonds. From a young age, Harper displayed a remarkable talent for art and a boundless curiosity that drove them to explore the world. They found solace and inspiration in the depths of libraries, where they would lose themselves in ancient tomes and uncover hidden knowledge. It was during one of these ventures that they stumbled upon a forgotten spellbook, triggering their fascination with the arcane arts. Little did they know that delving into the pages of that spellbook would lead them into misadventures in the treacherous realm of the Shadowfell, shaping their love for tattoos and leaving a lasting mark on their artistic journey. As Harper discovered their affinity for magic and honed their artistic skills, they yearned for opportunities to channel their talents and merge them with the wonders of the world. Strixhaven's invitation presented the perfect opportunity for them to nurture their craft within the prestigious walls of the academy. With grand visions of bringing their art to life through a fusion of magic and creativity, Harper eagerly embarked on their journey, determined to unlock the true potential of their artistic expression.Gorwin Balbalar (True Neutral Dragonborn)
Harper has developed a deep bond with Gorwin Balbalar, a Druid who tends to his chickens in the nearby forest. Gorwin's unorthodox and carefree lifestyle resonates with Harper's own desire for freedom and authenticity. Their friendship is built on mutual understanding and acceptance, as Gorwin listens attentively to Harper's thoughts and concerns, providing a safe space for open and honest conversations. Harper finds solace in Gorwin's non-judgmental nature and wise advice, which often brings clarity and reassurance. Gorwin's connection with nature and his "live and let live" attitude inspire Harper to embrace their own uniqueness and follow their creative instincts without fear of societal judgment.Tulnen Fexea (Neutral Good Gnome)
While growing up Haper was discovered by Tulnen Fexea a cleric of Garl Glittergold. She recognized Harper's artistic talent and attempted to recruit Harper into becoming a member of her Artisan Guild "The Upright Do Wrights" (UdW). The guild promotes conforming to rigid artistic standards and traditional aesthetics. Tulnen explained that Harper would of course have to start off as a whitewasher but in a few years she could easily see Harper rising to the level of tracer or even a designer. But the only offer that Tulnen has ever gotten Harper to accept was to fund Harper's education and entrance into strixhaven, which was given with no strings attached.Relationships

Insight: You step into Pyromancy and the Arts, half-expecting Professor Arkin Minexes to launch into another impossible lecture about "responsibility" before you’ve even taken your seat. Sure enough, he’s already pacing at the front of the room, gesturing animatedly as he talks about how fire is not just an element, but a moral choice. You sigh. You just wanted to learn how to shape flames into something cool—not get a philosophy lesson every other sentence. "Harper!" Arkin claps his hands, snapping you out of your thoughts. "Your turn! Show us an expression of passion—without losing control." You summon a flare of fire, twisting it into a moving figure, but before you can even admire your work, he shakes his head. "Good technique, but what does it say about your values?" he asks, eyes shining with too much enthusiasm. You’re almost sure he’s trying to fail you, but somehow, his energy makes it even more frustrating that you still want to impress him.

Insight: You sit in Introduction to Magic, arms crossed, staring at the intricate diagram Hofri Ghostforge has sketched on the board. It’s supposed to be a simple spell—basic summoning theory—but somehow, he’s managed to turn it into a lecture about ethical responsibility in magical practice. Again. "Magic is a conversation," Hofri says, adjusting his glasses as he gestures toward a faintly glowing statue at the front of the room. "When we conjure, we are inviting something into existence. And with that invitation comes obligation." You resist the urge to groan. You just wanted to learn how to cast the spell, not debate whether it was morally correct to do so. "Try again," he urges, as your summoned light fizzles out. "And this time, consider—what does your magic owe the world?" You mutter under your breath. This class is way harder than it should be, and Hofri could definitely afford to be a little more flexible.

Insight: You sit cross-legged on a mossy log, the scent of sizzling mushrooms and charred herbs filling the air as Gyome stirs an enormous cauldron over an open flame. Outdoor and Leisure Activities is turning out to be exactly what you expected from a Strixhaven class—hands-on, a little eccentric, and surprisingly useful. Today’s lesson? Foraging and fire-building, followed by a lecture on the importance of balance—both in flavor and in life. "Too much heat, and the dish burns. Too little, and it lacks depth," Gyome rumbles, carefully plating a dish that could feed three people. "Magic, like cooking, is about control." You nod along, mostly because he makes sense, but also because you really want to taste whatever he just made. You just wish he’d let you experiment a little more—his way is the way, and there’s no arguing with a troll who insists on perfection.

Insight: You walk into Extradimensional Architecture II with a sense of unease, already bracing yourself for what’s to come. The subject matter is tougher than you expected, every concept layered with complexities that seem unnecessarily convoluted. As the lecture begins, Professor Onyx strides in, her presence unsettling as always. She dives right into the material without much preamble, her tone as cold and unyielding as the strange topics she’s covering. You try to keep up, but the rigid way she presents each idea feels more like a test of endurance than a learning experience. It’s clear she could stand to be a bit more flexible in her teaching style, but you know better than to expect that from her. Just when you think the lecture couldn’t get any more difficult to digest, she drops another one of her shocking statements, something that feels more like a veiled threat than a lesson. The way she twists the material with her unsettling remarks sends a chill down your spine, and you wonder if anyone else feels the same discomfort you do. Despite your best efforts, the class remains a grueling challenge, each session leaving you more rattled than the last. It’s not just the material that’s hard to swallow—it’s the way Professor Onyx delivers it, with an eerie edge that makes you wish she’d show just a little more humanity.

Insight: History of Magic and Art might sound like an intriguing class, but you quickly discover that it’s more like an elaborate trap designed to ensnare unsuspecting students. As you take your seat, you can’t shake the feeling that Professor Arkin Minexes has it out for you—and perhaps everyone else too. The material itself is fascinating, tracing the evolution of magic and art through the ages, but any enjoyment you might have gotten out of the subject is squashed under the professor’s relentless scrutiny. Every assignment is nitpicked, every paper returned with comments that leave you questioning if you even understood the prompt in the first place. It’s almost as if Minexes is trying to fail you on purpose, setting the bar impossibly high just to watch you struggle. What makes it worse is the professor’s complete lack of humor. The lectures are delivered in a dry, monotonous tone, devoid of any lightness or levity. Minexes seems to be allergic to the idea of a joke or a casual remark, making each class feel like a march through a barren wasteland of dates, facts, and theories. And then, of course, there’s the ethics. No matter what the topic—whether it’s the creation of a legendary painting or the invention of a powerful spell—Minexes always finds a way to twist it into a moral lesson. You start to wonder if there’s any part of magical history that isn’t somehow tangled up in ethical dilemmas. By the end of each class, you’re left exhausted, drained, and more convinced than ever that this course is less about learning and more about survival.

As an action, you may make a Wisdom (Medicine) check, combining the right smells and sounds, or a Charisma (Intimidation) check, combining the right shouts and insults, to frighten creatures within a 30ft radius around you. The DC for this check is equal to your spell DC. You only have access to these boons so long as you are friends with 3 out of the 4 members of the dirges. Insights
Cadoras Damellawar v- Rosimyffenbip and Cadoras both share a love for the LARP guild and can often be found practicing their stage fighting at the archway commons. Cadoras thinks Rosie is potentially the coolest student on campus.
- Grayson and Cadoras have a sometimes intimate relationship. They first met when Cadoras approached the Future Entrepreneurs of Strixhaven with a business idea he had. Cadoras enjoys that Grayson’s lifestyle is so different to theirs, and yet they are so willing to share it. Cadoras hopes he can get Grayson to join the LARP guild eventually.
- Melwythorne has been annoyed at Cadoras ever since he saw them using Melwythorne’s favourite reading tree as target practice. Cadoras did not appreciate Melwythorne making the tree attack him back.
- Nora has disliked Cadoras ever since his smelly food habits attracted some stirges from the campus grounds, and threatened her chances at getting the Dormitories Resident Assistant position.
Drazhomir Yarnask v
- Javenesh took Drazhomir under his wing during their time working together as hosts for the university’s open day, and they have been friends ever since.
- Rosimyffenbip talks a mile a minute and is more than happy to talk to, and for, the quiet Drazhomir. This pleases Drazhomir greatly, and allows him to stay around others even when he doesn’t feel like talking much himself.
- Quentillius kept asking questions during the open day and got frustrated that this ‘big lump’ wouldn’t answer him. Drazhomir has disliked Quentillius ever since.
- Drazhomir is part of Urzmaktok’s study group, but he finds Urzmaktok distracting, constantly smelling of peculiar alchemical ingredients and always leaving a mess wherever he goes.
Javenesh Stoutclaw v
- Aurora actually started playing at Bow’s End tavern when Javenesh heard her music and convinced Tulk ‘The Bulk’ Tusktooth that this genre was something all the kids were listening to now. He thinks her music is the next big thing.
- Drazhomir didn’t like Javenesh at first, but for some reason, Javenesh persisted trying to make friends with him regardless. Javenesh has helped bring Drazhomhir out of his shell immensely.
- Urzmaktok once helped Javenesh out by patching him up after a fight, so that he didn’t have to go to the on campus nurse and answer questions that would inevitably get him into trouble.
- Javenesh believes Shuvadri is actually the culprit behind the graffiti on campus, and uses it as a way to make herself look better. Days after Javenesh spoke about this openly, he was brought into the campus security offices after reports he had written some particularly nasty graffiti. Javenesh swears it was not him.
- Rosimyffenbip has disliked Javenesh ever since he kicked her in the head with a silkball whilst she was practicing some of her LARP manoeuvres on the archway commons. Rosie believes Javenesh did this deliberately, after she caught him fouling whilst refereeing one of his silkball matches.
Melwythorne v
- Nora became good friends with Melwythorne, during the trans-support groups she runs. Melwythorne has learnt a lot about themselves thanks to Nora’s insight.
- Shuvadri and Melwythorne spend lots of time together, often in silent contemplation at some theological idea the other has posed.
- Cadoras upsets Melwythorne regularly, when he uses the campus vegetation for target practise. Melwythorne doesn’t understand the delight to be taken in any form of violence, especially when it is against nature.
- Urzmaktok is seen by Melwythorne as someone who only grows and nourishes nature to later suck out its life-force for their own gain. Melwythorne dislikes this life-siphoning practise.
Shuvadri Glintmantle v
- Melwythorne and Shuvadri love to take long walks around campus together. Shuvadri especially appreciates the way in which Melwythorne uses druidcraft to cause vines and flowers to sprout from the walls after Shuvadri is done cleaning graffiti off of them.
- Shuvadri thinks that Javenesh is a thug, and swears that he is behind some of the more grammatically challenged graffiti on campus.
Urzmaktok Grojsh v
- Javenesh has always supported Urzmaktok ever since Urz patched him up after a fight. Urz has often overheard Javenesh go out of his way to defend Urzmaktok when people laugh at the orc’s bookish nature.
- Aurora’s music has quickly grown on Urzmaktok, and he has recently helped her experiment with lots of new sounds from living things to add to her songs (some methods to create these sounds are less ethical than others).
- Melwythonre despises Urzmaktok’s point of view regarding life and magic, and this has lead Urzmaktok to avoid the treant at all costs.
- Drazhomir is part of Urzmaktok’s study group, but he finds Urzmaktok distracting, constantly smelling of peculiar alchemical ingredients and always leaving a mess wherever he goes.
Zanther Bowen v
- Zanther genuinely wants everyone at Strixhaven to succeed and tries his best to get everyone to like him.
- Zanther is scared of Aurora, and avoids her at every opportunity. He will always be nice to her, but she is the only person Zanther won’t write a note to, to congratulate on passing an exam.
Summer Camp Insights
Harper and Drazhomir Yarnask – Potion Brewing
v
Harper tried to liven up their potion brewing session by adding some unexpected ingredients for fun, but Drazhomir insisted on following the instructions exactly. When Harper finally convinced him to take a risk, the resulting mixture exploded into a harmless puff of pink smoke, leaving Harper laughing while Drazhomir sighed in exasperation. It was fun in the end, but Harper wished they didn’t have to work so hard just to get Drazhomir to loosen up.
Harper and Grayson Wildemere – Flying Lessons
v
During flying lessons, Harper and Grayson had a blast competing to see who could pull off the coolest midair tricks. While Grayson wasn’t as daring as Harper, they still kept up and even gave Harper a challenge with their precise movements. They didn’t always agree on how risky to be, but Harper respected that Grayson was at least willing to push some limits.
Harper and Javenesh Stoutclaw – Beast Taming
v
Harper wanted to see if they could get their assigned magical beast to do something wild, but Javenesh kept cautioning them about proper training methods. Harper thought it was ridiculous—what was the point of having a giant, fire-breathing lizard if you couldn’t let it show off a little? Javenesh eventually relented a bit, but only after ensuring the creature wouldn’t accidentally burn down the training area.
Harper and Larine Arneza – Illusion Spells
v
During an illusion magic workshop, Harper kept pushing Larine to create wilder, more dramatic illusions, but Larine was more focused on getting the spells just right. Harper managed to make a ridiculously oversized dragon head appear, but Larine scolded them for making it too chaotic. In the end, Larine’s illusion was technically better, but Harper thought theirs was way more fun.
Harper and Melwythorne – Wilderness Survival
v
Harper thought camping in the magical wilderness would be exciting, but Melwythorne was annoyingly cautious, insisting on checking every step for potential dangers. When Harper tried to climb a tree to get a better view, Melwythorne lectured them about unstable branches and safety. It wasn’t until later that night, when Melwythorne helped Harper build the best campfire spell, that Harper admitted they were a pretty solid partner.
Harper and Mina Lee – Spell Dueling
v
Harper was excited for an intense spell duel, but Mina kept reminding them of all the rules about safety and proper etiquette. Harper tried to get Mina to add a little flair—maybe a surprise trick or an unexpected spell—but Mina refused to break protocol. It was still a fun match, but Harper wished Mina didn’t take everything so seriously.
Harper and Nora Ann Wu – Treasure Hunt
v
During the enchanted treasure hunt, Harper wanted to charge ahead and break open locked chests, but Nora insisted on solving each puzzle properly. Harper found it a little frustrating to be slowed down, but in the end, Nora’s careful approach helped them avoid a particularly tricky magical trap. It was a decent time, but Harper wished they didn’t have to keep convincing Nora to take shortcuts.
Harper and Shuvadri Glintmantle – Riddle Challenges
v
Harper groaned through the riddle challenge while Shuvadri took it way too seriously, carefully analyzing every clue. Harper’s idea of fun was just blurting out random, creative answers, but Shuvadri kept insisting they think things through properly. Harper had to admit that Shuvadri’s careful thinking led them to victory, but it was still a bit of a drag.
Harper and Tilana Kapule – Alchemy Experiments
v
Harper thought mixing random ingredients in the alchemy lab would be fun, but Tilana kept reminding them to follow the formulas. When Harper finally convinced Tilana to try something unpredictable, the resulting potion turned their hair bright green for the rest of the day. Tilana was horrified at first, but eventually, they both laughed about it—though Tilana still insisted on sticking to the rules next time.
Harper and Zanther Bowen – Obstacle Course
v
Harper and Zanther absolutely thrived in the magical obstacle course, both pushing each other to take bigger risks and crazier jumps. The two of them worked together to outmaneuver the enchanted barriers, laughing every time they barely made it through a tricky section. Harper had the most fun with Zanther, even if they had a few debates over whether some tricks were too risky.
