Blue Strixhaven Adept {Training} - Deception
Cadence grew up in Underland on the outskirts of the castle grounds, her father still worked for the new Queen, Mr. Nivens still wanted to have his home away from the hubbub of day-to-day castle life. Through the turmoil of the new kingdom regaining strength, Cadence was home schooled by her mother, a well-known wizard extraordinaire, an uncommon thing in the Feywild.
Cadence Alice lived up to her name’s sake, and was just an adventurous as “The Alice”. Cadence not only was outgoing, but she had a flare for the arts, education, time management, and was very regimented, a perfect combination of her parents. These traits sometimes conflicted with one another and caused her to be more impulsive with her decisions. Cadence always excelled in school academia, she also dabbled in the wizarding arts (her mother right alongside), and she loved to paint her world in colors (brighter the better).
Her mother would talk about her time studying at Strixhaven, and all the fun she had with her fellow classmates in the Quandrix College. Over the years Cadence tried to soak up as much information as she could in hopes that one day, she too, might get the opportunity to spread her wings, just like mom.

Description
Cadence Alice Liddell is a striking female harengon, standing at a height of 4'5". Her appearance is a delightful combination of elegance and uniqueness. Her enchanting green eyes sparkle with curiosity and intelligence, reflecting her adventurous spirit. Her hair is a mesmerizing blend of colors, showcasing a rich tapestry of black, purple, white, and blue, all beautifully layered. This colorful mane is layered orderly in the front while the rest of her black hair cascades down her back in wild waves. The rest of Cadence's fur is a pristine white, creating a stunning contrast with the playful grey spots that dot her coat, reminiscent of stars scattered across the night sky. Each spot seems to have a story of its own, adding to the mystery and charm of her appearance. Her features are delicate and refined, giving her an air of grace and poise. She carries herself with confidence and an air of curiosity, always ready to explore new horizons and embrace the wonders of the world around her.History
After the Queen of Hearts reign ended, the “White Rabbit” slowed down (just a little), but still kept a schedule. One day he was able to find companionship with someone who understood him, with all his quirks, she had her own. This companionship grew into love and in the years that followed, a baby was close to follow. Mr. Nivens, the white hare, was so fond of “The Alice”, the precocious girl, that he named his only daughter after her. Thus Cadence Alice Lindell was born; on time, as all things should be.Cadence grew up in Underland on the outskirts of the castle grounds, her father still worked for the new Queen, Mr. Nivens still wanted to have his home away from the hubbub of day-to-day castle life. “Uncle” Chessur (True Neutral Harengon)
Uncle Chessur, the enigmatic black-furred Harengon, has had a unique and mixed influence on Cadence Alice. He's been a fascinating figure in her life, encouraging her to step out of her comfort zone and take more risks. Whenever he visited her family home in Underland, Cadence would be captivated by his mesmerizing stories of other realms and thrilling adventures. Chessur's tales sparked Cadence's imagination and ignited a sense of curiosity about the unknown. He would often challenge her to question the world around her and explore beyond the boundaries of her familiar surroundings. His mischievous and daring nature inspired her to be more adventurous, to embrace uncertainty, and to see possibilities where others might only see obstacles. While her parents would worry about her safety, Chessur would offer a different perspective, encouraging her to trust her instincts and follow her heart's desires. This mixed influence of both cautionary advice from her parents and daring encouragement from Chessur has shaped Cadence into a young woman who balances her innate passion for adventure with a strong sense of responsibility.Relationships

Papers go missing only to show up again in strange places, spell components giggle at them, and books gossip about them behind their backs. But none of these strange happenings are ever witnessed by anyone else.Current Classes

Exam DC: 18

Insight: Advanced Illusory Arts is exactly what you expected—a whirlwind of creativity, technique, and unrestrained magical expression. Professor Veyran encourages bold experimentation, pushing you to refine your illusions through both passion and discipline. The class itself feels fluid, almost chaotic at times, but there’s an underlying structure, a method to the madness that keeps it from spiraling into complete disarray. Veyran is professional and to the point, never wasting time on unnecessary theatrics. She expects excellence but doesn’t demand perfection, instead emphasizing growth and refinement. When students struggle, she doesn’t coddle them—she challenges them, pushing them toward improvement with sharp, insightful critiques. You respect that. Still, the freeform nature of the class means that expectations are sometimes vague, and the lack of rigid structure can make it easy to feel lost. But that’s the nature of the art itself—shapeless, boundless, waiting for you to define it. If nothing else, Veyran makes sure you never lose sight of that.

Insight: Arcane Herbology III is as straightforward as you hoped it would be. Professor Yedora delivers her lessons with a steady, methodical pace, making even the most intricate magical botany feel approachable. Her voice—low and resonant, like wind through ancient branches—carries an authority that commands attention without needing to demand it. There’s no unnecessary flair, no pointless diversions—just practical knowledge, delivered with quiet precision. You appreciate that. Everything she teaches has purpose, from the careful cultivation of enchanted flora to the deeper, more solemn responsibilities of tending to the university’s living memorials. She expects diligence, but her expectations are clear, making it easy to meet them. If anything, the hardest part of the class is how still Yedora can be. Her presence is unshakable, almost eerie in its patience, and there’s something about the way she speaks of the trees—of the lives they represent—that makes the air feel heavier. But that weight isn’t unpleasant. It simply is, like the roots of an ancient oak grounding you in something deeper than just another class.

Insight: Terrastrial Cryptozoology is exactly what you expected—a deep dive into the strange and elusive creatures that lurk just beyond the boundaries of conventional study. Professor Verelda Lang delivers her lectures with a composed, almost clinical efficiency, wasting no time on unnecessary embellishments. She presents facts, observations, and theories with the detached curiosity of a true researcher, letting the material speak for itself. The class structure, or lack thereof, keeps you on your toes. One day, you're analyzing the arcane metabolism of a basilisk; the next, you're tracking the migration patterns of spectral fauna. There’s no rigid syllabus, no predictable flow—just a constant immersion into the mysteries of magical biology. You appreciate that. It feels real, like you’re participating in an ongoing discovery rather than simply memorizing someone else’s conclusions. Verelda isn’t warm, but she isn’t unkind either. She treats every question with measured thought, as if considering its validity in real time. There's something reassuring about her steady professionalism. She won’t waste your time with sentimentality—but she also won’t tolerate anything less than your best.

Insight: As you settle into your seat in the dimly lit classroom, you glance around at the other students, all equally unsure of what to expect from "Computational Magic." Professor Onyx stands at the front, her dark, imposing figure casting long shadows across the room. Despite her unsettling presence, you find that her explanations are clear, concise, and surprisingly easy to follow. The concepts she introduces—about using logic and magical algorithms to weave spells more efficiently—make sense in a way that almost feels comforting in their structure. But just as you start to relax into the rhythm of the lecture, Professor Onyx lets slip a comment that sends a shiver down your spine. "Remember," she says with a sly smile, "magic is like a tool—sharp, precise, and deadly in the wrong hands. And the best part? The more you understand it, the easier it is to cut away what you don't need… or whom you don't need." The class is silent, the weight of her words hanging in the air like a dark cloud. Yet, despite the creeping unease, you can't help but appreciate the straightforward, no-nonsense approach she takes. It's exactly what you expected a class at Strixhaven to be like—challenging, thought-provoking, and just a little bit terrifying.

Insight: As you take your seat in Extradimensional Architecture I, the room feels oddly spacious, as though its walls have been subtly stretched to accommodate the vast ideas you're about to explore. Professor Hofri Ghostforge stands at the front, his presence both solid and comforting, like the very stones of the buildings he speaks about. His lectures are clear, methodical, and brimming with practical knowledge—exactly what you'd hoped for in a class at Strixhaven. The way he describes the intricacies of crafting spaces that defy the normal laws of physics makes you feel like you're on the verge of unlocking a whole new dimension of possibilities. Yet, no matter how far you dive into the blueprints and arcane formulas, Professor Ghostforge never misses an opportunity to bring up ethics. "Remember," he says, adjusting his glasses with a thoughtful frown, "when you create a pocket dimension, you're not just designing a space—you're designing an environment that could impact countless beings, should they stumble upon it. The moral implications of such power are vast." You can't help but notice how his lectures always circle back to ethical considerations, even when it seems like the topic at hand doesn't require it. At times, you find it a bit much, wondering why ethics has to be woven into every aspect of the course. But then again, you can't deny that his conscientious approach has a way of making the complex subject matter feel grounded, rooted in the real world—or, at least, in the potential worlds you might one day create.

Insight: You settle into your seat for Quantitative Arcanophysics, expecting another challenging lecture from Professor Arkin Minexes. The class has already proven to be tougher than you anticipated, with its dense formulas and intricate theories that seem to twist your brain into knots. You were hoping for some clarity today, but as soon as Professor Minexes begins to speak, you realize you're in for another uphill battle. Professor Minexes is as peppy as ever, his voice bouncing with enthusiasm as he scribbles equations on the board at a dizzying pace. But there’s something unyielding in his approach—no room for error, no sympathy for those struggling to keep up. He demands precision, and the slightest miscalculation is met with a curt correction and a sharp look that makes you shrink in your seat. And then, just as you think you’ve wrapped your head around the latest complex theorem, he pivots—again—into ethics. "Remember," he says, almost as an afterthought, "each arcane calculation we make isn't just about numbers and magic; it's about responsibility. Misusing this knowledge could lead to catastrophic outcomes, and the moral weight of that rests on your shoulders." You find yourself groaning inwardly. It’s not that you don’t appreciate the importance of ethics, but it feels like no matter what topic you’re trying to grasp, it all circles back to morality in his lectures—even when it seems entirely out of place. The weight of both the academic challenge and the constant ethical reminders makes the class feel far more daunting than you’d expected. And though you admire Professor Minexes' passion, you can’t help but wish he’d ease up just a little—on both the difficulty and the endless ethical considerations.

Insights
Aurora Luna Wynterstarr v- Javenesh and Aurora often spend time together at Bow’s End Tavern and both enjoy music. Aurora thinks Javenesh is the only one that really ‘sees’ her, and likes that she’s got such a supportive friend when it comes to her music.
- Urzmaktok is Aurora’s student mentor from Witherbloom, and they share similar philosophies with drawing power from living things. She doesn’t mind his odd take on hygiene, and finds his logical approach to life balances her artistic flair nicely.
- Aurora is the only person to dislike Zanther, as she is convinced he’s always being fake when acting so nicely toward everyone. ‘Toxic positivity’ is a phrase she uses often when talking about Zanther.
Drazhomir Yarnask v
- Javenesh took Drazhomir under his wing during their time working together as hosts for the university’s open day, and they have been friends ever since.
- Rosimyffenbip talks a mile a minute and is more than happy to talk to, and for, the quiet Drazhomir. This pleases Drazhomir greatly, and allows him to stay around others even when he doesn’t feel like talking much himself.
- Quentillius kept asking questions during the open day and got frustrated that this ‘big lump’ wouldn’t answer him. Drazhomir has disliked Quentillius ever since.
- Drazhomir is part of Urzmaktok’s study group, but he finds Urzmaktok distracting, constantly smelling of peculiar alchemical ingredients and always leaving a mess wherever he goes.
Javenesh Stoutclaw v
- Aurora actually started playing at Bow’s End tavern when Javenesh heard her music and convinced Tulk ‘The Bulk’ Tusktooth that this genre was something all the kids were listening to now. He thinks her music is the next big thing.
- Drazhomir didn’t like Javenesh at first, but for some reason, Javenesh persisted trying to make friends with him regardless. Javenesh has helped bring Drazhomhir out of his shell immensely.
- Urzmaktok once helped Javenesh out by patching him up after a fight, so that he didn’t have to go to the on campus nurse and answer questions that would inevitably get him into trouble.
- Javenesh believes Shuvadri is actually the culprit behind the graffiti on campus, and uses it as a way to make herself look better. Days after Javenesh spoke about this openly, he was brought into the campus security offices after reports he had written some particularly nasty graffiti. Javenesh swears it was not him.
- Rosimyffenbip has disliked Javenesh ever since he kicked her in the head with a silkball whilst she was practicing some of her LARP manoeuvres on the archway commons. Rosie believes Javenesh did this deliberately, after she caught him fouling whilst refereeing one of his silkball matches.
Larine Arneza v
- Quentillius approached Larine after his first show and thanked her specifically for the time and work she’d put into making it a success. The two bonded quickly and have been friends ever since.
- Rubina suggested Larine take the ticket seller job after she heard it was up for grabs. This, and sharing a dorm together, have made them fast friends.
- Tilana and Larine loved the more active lessons that Quandrix professors offered, and partner up when given the opportunity.
- Larine avoids Greta at The Biblioplex at all costs, as she finds herself easily distracted by Greta’s raucous nature. Especially if Greta has just come from watching a match of silkball at the Strixhaven Stadium.
Mina Lee v
- Nora and Mina have been close friends ever since they shared a dorm together as first years. Nora is the first one that Mina turns to when she is troubled by information she has found during her investigative journalism.
- Grayson’s technique of assuming gossip is legitimate until proven otherwise seems unethical to Mina.
- Rubina was once in a rush to get to rehearsal, and chastised Mina for asking too many questions whilst preparing her lunch at the Firejolt Café - Mina did not appreciate this outburst and attitude.
Rosimyffenbip “Rosie” Wuzfeddlims v
- Cadoras and Rosimyffenbip are a whirr of fast and excitable talking whenever they’re together. Usually they enthusiastically review one of their latest ‘sessions’ or get into an intellectual debate about some new ‘build’ the other has come up with. Rosie thinks Cadoras is bundles of fun and wants nothing more than to see her best friend succeed.
- Drazhomir and Rosimyffenbip are an unlikely dynamic. Almost at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of size, speed, and how much they speak -Rosie finds that Drazhomir’s calm and quiet nature helps her relax after an exciting day at the LARP guild, or after a stressful day refereeing. She has grown very fond of her bookish friend, and mainly finds time to study, just so that she can spend time with him.
- Javenesh is friendly to everyone, but Rosimyffenbip has had more than a few close calls with him whilst refereeing skillball, and is annoyed by how oblivious he seems to be regarding the speed at which he tackles others, especially when he has such an imposing and dense build. This annoyance has bled into Rosie’s interactions with Javenesh on campus.
Summer Camp Insights
Cadence and Drazhomir Yarnask – Potion Brewing
v
During a potion brewing session, Cadence had a blast experimenting with different ingredients alongside Drazhomir. They enjoyed coming up with creative concoctions, though Drazhomir sometimes insisted on following the recipe exactly, which took some of the excitement out of the process. While Cadence admired his level-headedness, they did roll their eyes a few times when he lectured about the dangers of improvising with volatile reagents.
Cadence and Grayson Wildemere – Dueling Practice
v
Sparring with Grayson in dueling practice was one of the highlights of Cadence’s summer. They both loved pushing the limits of their magic, though they sometimes debated the ethics of using certain spells in a real fight. Ultimately, Cadence respected Grayson’s views and appreciated that, even when they disagreed, they could still have fun challenging each other.
Cadence and Javenesh Stoutclaw – Strength Training
v
During strength training, Cadence and Javenesh competed to see who could lift the heaviest magical weights, turning it into a fun game. Javenesh was always encouraging but would sometimes stop to remind Cadence about the “proper way” to train safely, which was a little frustrating. Cadence appreciated his support but wished he would let loose a bit more instead of always being the responsible one.
Cadence and Larine Arneza – Spellcrafting
v
Cadence and Larine spent an afternoon crafting new spells, bouncing wild ideas off each other. Larine was great at refining ideas, but she had a habit of warning about the risks of unstable magic, which put a damper on some of Cadence’s more ambitious plans. Still, they worked well together, and Cadence had to admit that Larine’s input helped keep their spells from backfiring too badly.
Cadence and Melwythorne – Nature Walks
v
Exploring the enchanted forest around camp with Melwythorne was both relaxing and slightly frustrating for Cadence. They enjoyed discovering magical plants and creatures, but Melwythorne often paused to lecture about respecting nature instead of, say, testing the explosive properties of a glowing mushroom. While Cadence valued his wisdom, they sometimes wished he would be a little less serious about everything.
Cadence and Mina Lee – Campfire Night
v
Sitting around the campfire, Cadence tried to start a fun prank war, but Mina Lee was quick to shoot down any ideas that bent the rules. She was great company when sharing stories, but her insistence on following camp guidelines to the letter took some of the thrill out of sneaky tricks. Cadence respected her but couldn’t help but think she needed to loosen up and embrace the chaos of camp life.
Cadence and Nora Ann Wu – Flying Lessons
v
Flying lessons with Nora Ann Wu were exhilarating, as she was always up for daring maneuvers and fast-paced aerial games. However, she had a tendency to caution Cadence about reckless flying, which sometimes put a damper on the excitement. Despite that, Cadence thought she was a great partner in the sky and enjoyed their shared enthusiasm for pushing boundaries—within reason.
Cadence and Shuvadri Glintmantle – Riddle Solving
v
During a riddle-solving challenge, Cadence and Shuvadri teamed up to crack enchanted puzzles. Shuvadri’s methodical approach was undeniably effective, but she sometimes refused to consider more creative—or chaotic—solutions, which frustrated Cadence. While they admired her intellect, they thought she could benefit from thinking outside the box a little more.
Cadence and Tilana Kapule – Cooking with Magic
v
Magical cooking class with Tilana was an unpredictable adventure, with spells flying and ingredients occasionally coming to life. Cadence had a great time improvising new recipes, but Tilana sometimes put on her “responsible chef” hat and warned about potential magical food poisoning. Even though she got a bit serious at times, Cadence still enjoyed her company and their shared love of experimentation.
Cadence and Zanther Bowen – Capture the Flag
v
Playing capture the flag with Zanther was both exhilarating and exhausting. His wild, unpredictable tactics made for an exciting game, but Cadence sometimes found his energy overwhelming. They worked well as a team when they could agree on a strategy, but Cadence occasionally had to rein Zanther in when his plans got too chaotic.

Poems from Drazhomir
Cadence of PurposeUpon her path, a wanderer, resolute,
One mind that blazes, boundless as the day,
Her steps, a melody, a resolute pursuit,
And in her way, she shapes her distinct way.
Her heart, an orchestra, symphonies untold,
Conducts a tale in the hues of time,
With brushstrokes bold, stories begin to unfold,
In this vivid canvas, she weaves a rhyme.
Though whispers faint, her presence whispers clear,
A maze, uncharted, a world yet unseen,
In every step, a song to all that's near,
In her words, silent epics keen.
Within her rhythm, life finds purpose here,
She's the guide to fables, hope, and cheer.

The Mute Scholar
In shadowed aisles, he gathers ancient lore,
Urzmaktok ponders spells of yesteryears,
Obscure, forgotten texts are all he pores,
His thorough notes fuel learning without fears.
No warm regard adorns his sober mind,
A solitary student lost in thought,
The world around him, seen by eyes confined,
To worlds arcane, with reverence he's caught.
His soul, it's tethered to the mystic verse,
Each lecture thrives in rules and calculations,
While magic weaves in ways that can't coerce,
Urzmaktok finds no room for celebrations.
Though Urzmaktok seeks knowledge unimpelled,
His wisdom's void of life where passions dwelled.

Harmony in Feylight
In moonlit glades where fey lights twinkle bright,
Two souls, Cadence and Rosie, dance with glee,
A fey lord's court, a realm of pure delight,
In laughter's realm, they find sweet harmony.
With names unique, they charm the fey so fair,
Cadence's grace, like flowers in bloom,
While Rosie's energy fills the summer air,
In fey lord's gaze, they banish all gloom.
With nimble feet, they weave a merry tune,
Through silvered woods, where shadows play,
The fey lord smiles beneath the crescent moon,
As Cadence and Rosie dance the night away.
In fey embrace, a wondrous trio born,
In moonlit glades, where laughter is sworn.
