Eothas
One of The Old Gods on Quel.
Influence over the sun and stars contributes to Eothas’ overall air of grandeur and importance. By divine command, his churches are strictly regulated in their laws of the faith. A candle, lantern, or torch must burn in the center of every room, banishing "shadows of unfaithful" to vacant doorways, the domain of Cronus. Eothas' churches are built to capture the dawn light in spectacular displays of color either through stained glass windows or prisms that split light into a broad range of colors. Most worship services are timed to begin with this effect.
The followers of Eothas are often crusaders searching to eliminate dark or evil forces from the world. A secret society of Eothisians, called the Night Market, attempt to track and fight against any dark forces that would threaten Arathel. However, this puts the Night Market in direct opposition to the Grey Clerics of Darjur, who the Night Market view as playing with dark forces that should be left alone. Established following the God War, the Night Market aims to reconnect with the Old Gods by righting the wrongs of the denizens of Quel, and achieving grace in the eyes of the Gods.
