Darjur
One of The Old Gods of Quel.
Darjur cares after the deep, dark places that others forget. She facilitates decay of corpses and detritus to help renew the world. She is viewed as either a bringer of nutrients and life beyond death or a harbinger of old age and the unstoppable destruction of all organized energy through entropy. Darjur is commonly associated with fungus, which prefers dark, damp locations and feeds off the decaying remains of other creatures. Among her worshippers are commonly found Deep Gnomes, Dwarves, Kobolds, and all miners, sewer workers, and others who spend much of their lives underground. These workers often pray to Darjur to watch over them during their travels in deep places.
The Grey Clerics are a small cult that worship Darjur. In contrast to the commonly held interpretation of Darjur's intentions, the Grey Clerics espouse the belief that Darjur wishes for mortal remains to be reused in any form that is useful or animated. The clerics perform necromantic and entropic rites as a way of praying to Darjur. It is unclear if these rites are powered by divine support from Darjur herself or the Clerics are tapping into magic energies.
