2/3/21 - Stone to Flesh

General Summary

With their enemies wished away by Slayer, there was still much to do. The party was still cursed, but still tried to get their bearings inside the flooded temple of the monkey god known as Kom. Inside, the petrified forms of the Dol Dorn guard captain as well as Malikae were recovered and dragged back to the central room where Leolar was waiting. After an uninterrupted long rest, Leolar used his divine abilities to free Snorri and Melkor from the curse afflicting them.   Things seem to be looking up. All the members of Welcome Tasks have been assembled in their various forms and now it was time to return them to their full potential. First, Leolar and Melkor headed to the Citadel of Dol Dorn. With the help of the guards, both the captain and Malikae were able to be turned back from stone. Malikae was happy to see Slayer again but sad to see the aftermath of their failed combat. Looking around, Magnus and a Dol Dorn dragonborn guard were in several pieces in their petrified form, and both Tali's and Saepe's bodies were water-bloated and chewed by sharks.   With the captain restored, her and the guards left with the remaining petrified individuals promising to restore to a state where Greater Restoration could be performed. They headed in the direction of the The Radiant Spires of Dol Dorn( often referred to as the Quinthedral) and to the Parliamentary District to fetch a mason to make the dragonborns whole. With the guards gone, Malikae took inventory of what had happened since his demise. He was down pretty much every magic item on his person except for his hammer and the folding boat. This included his Bag of Holding and the crucial party funds; making things difficult when it came to purchasing expensive material components. However, thanks to Hinterlands and Slayer pooling their funds, they had obtained a diamond capable casting Raise Dead from the priest of Kelemvor.   There was a brief discussion of the logistics of bringing someone back from the dead. Melkor's insight revealed that raising the dead, from an arcane perspective, causes the material plane and the underworld to overlap one another and may be more complicated than simply casting a spell. However Malikae felt that the risks were worth it, as it was his duty to help his friends and more importantly was not against the will of Helm. Currently the dwarf stands over Saepe's  body, diamond in hand, ready to bring the follower of The Callipygian Woman back to fight another day.
