Umberlee

The Maelstrom

Umberlee holds a special role in Qelara's pantheon. Like Auril , people pray to Umberlee not out of respect and admiration but out of fear, hoping to assuage her wrath and convince her to spare them.
Born a human at the time of the Great War, Casandra Revenmar became a renowned naval commander, defeating the elven forces in several key battles. For her bravery and service in the war, she joined her other commanding comrades in ascending to godhood. She represents the ferocity of the ocean and its ability to be weaponized against enemies -- both in naval combat and also storms and tempests. For this reason, sailors will often pay homage to Umberlee before a sea voyage, praying for safe passage and that her wrath does not visit them.
Umberlee does not have any specific temples, but you can find small shrines to her in every port, usually given a noticeably sheltered and nicely adorned altar.
