Tiamat
Queen of Dragons
Tiamat is an enduring force across the cosmos and planes throughout recorded history. Having terrorized many different worlds in search of conquest, she arrived in Qelara many millennia ago to do the same. She wreaked havoc on the planet for many months until her arch-nemesis Bahamut appeared to drive her away. Now, having fallen afoul of powerful protectors elsewhere in the multiverse, she has been banished to Avernus in the Nine Hells, where she sits in a prison and plots her escape.
Tiamat was worshiped by the chromatic dragonborn of Qelara for a long time, representing not the total destructive chaos of the Queen of Dragons, but rather the change of station and situation possible through determination and work. For a long time, the chromatic dragonborn were looked down on as evil and less-than by their metallic brethren, so a message of upheaval and fortune-changing resonated on a cultural level. After many decades of religious war, the two dragonborn sects settled into an easy peace which allowed the chromatic dragons to worship this false image of Tiamat they had constructed, which did not supply the actual Tiamat with the power that would come from having hundreds, if not thousands, of followers.
Eventually, after more wars between the two dragonborn sects, and after secret plots were uncovered showing Tiamat's plans to return to the Material Plane, the chromatic dragonborns were forced to give up their worship -- though they do not have to pray to Bahamut. Many dragonborn have switched allegiance to other deities of the human, elf, or even the halfling pantheons.
Tiamat does not have any temples or shrines in Qelara, though some secret cults are rumored to exist in several places.
