Old Tongue

Old Tongue is the modern term for any pre-Cataclysm language, written or spoken. While Scant has supplanted Old Tongue in everyday usage among survivors, some culturally homogenous enclaves still speak in their native language. The capacity to read the written characters of Old Tongue is rare, only found amongst true elders, keepers of the history, and particularly inquistive Edgers seeking the treasures of the world buried in the ruins.
