Abraham
Bearing the mononym of Abraham, this elder statesman was one of the most revered and controversial figures at the center of New Chumdunk and its legacy.
Born in the original city of Chumdunk before its destruction, Abraham lead the settling of New Found Land and was among the first pioneers to plant their roots and re-found Chumdunk. As a scholar and mathematician, Abraham shaped the young city's growth to one of learning and education. He was the founding father of New Chumdunk's premier university, which at the height of the Oyl age was the Old World's most advanced institution of knowledge and the arts. Abraham was also the first archminister to be elected as New Chumdunk's head of state by the ruling senate.
However, the latter portion of his life would be defined by his faith as much as his civic work. A lifelong devotee of The Tyrant King, Abraham cultivated the rise of Dragyn cults within New Chumdunk. Even for the non-religious, denizens of the city lived and worked alongside dragyns in their daily life and the city flourished with humans and dragyns hand in hand. This quiet devotion grew into fervor and zealotry with each passing year and each new atrocity committed by the Oyl cults of the south. The creation of the God Machines by Dr. Y'zarr Tepek finally snapped something within him.
Abraham boiled New Chumdunk's simmering rivalry with Alterr up to a fever pitch and calls for war from the citizenry rang out in the streets. In a final drastic action, he publicly executed Dr. Y'zarr Tepek during a visiting lecture by Tepek at the university while his supporters and dragyn cultists stormed the Senate. The hands of the minsters had been forced to draw up a declaration of war, pitting New Chumdunk against the Alterran Confederacy in the bloodiest, most destructive war ever seen by mankind.
