Sun-Touched Silk

The kind heart of the former goddess Ramura is well-known, and those things which she creates will always be for the good of others. The Sunworm is the only known creature that she has created, and the silk that it creates is a great boon to those who find themselves in possession of something created from it. Ramura is happy to weave items to pass on to those she sees as needy or deserving, and those items she herself creates are near impossible to destroy.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Sun-touched silk is a fabric weaved from the silk of a rare creature known as the Sunworm. These small creatures produce their silk only in the light of day, working together over the course of many days, and sometimes weeks. The silk that is produced is thin enough to see through, but strong enough that it can withstand the heaviest of winds without tearing.

Physical & Chemical Properties

The silk is as soft and as light as air.

Origin & Source

The Sunworm was created by Ramura herself before the fall of the gods, her clerics and temples taking responsibility for the care of the creatures.

Life & Expiration

This silk and the items created from it will last indefinitely unless they are deprived of sunlight for long periods of time. This deprivation will degrade the material to the point where it is no longer of any use.

History & Usage

Discovery

Upon the creation of the tiny creatures that produce the silk, Ramura sent visions to the high priestesses of all of her temples, instructing them on where to find the sunworms and how to care for them.

Everyday use

The silk is most often used in the creation of magical apparel, usually items to help protect against illness and injury. It can also be used as a bandage, any open wound that it covers being protected from infection and warding off dirt and germs. It helps to heal these wounds more quickly than they might otherwise heal, leaving no scars behind.

Distribution

Trade & Market

Ramura and her clerics will not sell items made from this silk, but will give them to those in need. If sold by those to whom they are given, they are quite valuable, and many will pay quite well for them.
