History

During the school year of 91-92, Killer would fail nearly every class he was in, prompting the school to contact Hitokiri to inform him that for his son to graduate on time, he would need to be enrolled in summer school. The two would argue, come to blows, and Hitokiri would kick Killer out of the house. Hitokiri never enrolled his son into summer school. He almost refused to enroll him into the next school year at all, except he was reminded by Arai, Wire's father, that he was still legally responsible for this 16 year old son, and Arai was more than happy to call social services on him; Killer had been crashing at his house on and off through the summer, and while he never said he'd been kicked out, it wasn't hard for the adults to put the pieces together once Wire fessed up to catching Killer sleeping in his own truck at summer's start.   Killer was allowed back on the property just as the school year started in late August of 92. While he was never allowed back into his childhood home, Hitokiri let him at least move into the storage area above the garage. Killer wasn't allowed to park his truck in the garage - that's where Hitokiri parked after all - nor was he allowed any of his things from his old room; most of it thrown away when he was kicked out. It had no plumbing, Killer forced to use the old dilapidated outhouse from the original homestead, and then to shower at school. He used the laundromats in town to keep his cloths clean, or Heat & Wire would let him wash up at their places when he'd ditch classes to hang out with them instead.   Besides no plumbing, it had no central heating, though it was insulated well to prevent carbon monoxide buildup from the lower garage ground level. Killer made it work with a cheap space heater. His friends got him a mini fridge and a microwave, and Victoria's father donated a few essentials such as an old found-out futon and desk when he was clearing out her old room, as well as her old drum-set.   For a 16 year old - it was a level of freedom that none of his peers had, for better or worse. While Killer never threw any parties that might get his father's attention, he had a revolving door of guests, both during the day, and night. The only thing keeping him from garnering a worse reputation then he was already gaining, was the fear of his father walking in on him, and Killer only had over those who he trusted to be cool and discrete.
The loft was called the 'Fort' by the original four kids growing up, where they othen played in the summer.
