The Unitos
A primitive humanoid species, the Unitos exist on a paradise world and are separated into various tribes. Family is an essential part of Unitos life, and most of the tribes are formed from long-standing dynasties going back for generations. Inter-tribe relations are tense at times and sometimes war breaks out among a couple of tribes at a time for various resources and Terran artifacts.
Each tribe features another elite subsect. Called the Elevated, these Unitos are believed to have been blessed with extraordinary gifts by the Generalis, who they call the "Great One". Each Elevated has a number of abilities, ranging far and wide. Each tribe takes large pride in their Elevated, and there are often competitions to prove which tribe is best.

History
Ancient History:
At the edges of recorded Unitos history, myths claim that the original Families rose fully formed from holes in the ground. A common belief among the Unitos is that they were conceived by the death of the Terrans, and the original families were tasked by the last Terran to spread and populate the land in their memory. To this day, the Unitos venerate this last Terran as the spiritual leader of their society, and they often attempt to send messages to Him for guidance. As generations passed, the Families spread and grew, and each took their own location. The Qyuods took residence in the lands surrounding the Holy Pillar, the Johannes in the valleys near The Hard Lands where legend said that the Terrans once dwelt, and the Recludet went to the mountains and are rarely seen. Many other Families spread to far lands and over the Sky-Splitters.
Common Myths and Legends
The "Creation Myth" is the legend as follows. One day, when the Great Burning had ceased, the first Families arose from the earth. There they were seen by the Generalis and they followed. He gave them gifts of food and animals and bade them spread across all of the lands and prosper. He then left them and went into seclusion, where they never saw him again. The families heeded his call, and they spread far and wide and established their homes.
The "Ravage Myth" was recorded in the Articles of Spanos about 200 years after when the first account of the "Creation Myth". It told of a punishment sent to the Unitos by the Generalis for their disobedience and hateful ways of war, pillage, and unfaithfulness. As the Articles say: "As the great Families rages in their war of hate and destruction, the Great One sent forth His retribution. For ten years the Great One's Constructs rained down upon the Families from the heavens and destroyed all those who did not flee for the protection of the great mountains, the Sky-Splitters. There the Recludet took in any who came for refuge, but once the Great One's wrath had been spent, the shattered peoples ventured back to their homes and committed their crimes no more."
