The Hard Lands

Massive expanses at the edge of the known world, the Hard Lands are mostly devoid of life and are covered in hard, unbreakable substances. There are legends among the the Unitos that claim the Hard Lands were once the home of the great Terrans, though many find these stories hard to believe due to the harshness of the land. The only evidence in support of this belief was the discovery of skeletons scattered across the land, with proportions that fit with the descriptions of the Generalis and are conspicuously similar to Unitos skeletons. Only the hardiest of vines, grass, and trees grow there with very few animals. No Unitos has ever crossed the Hard Lands, and many claim that there is no end. There are many jagged spires within the Hard Lands that are made of the same substance, though they are rare and prone to collapse.

Though the most recent sapient species calls this the Hard Lands, the Terrans would have known it as a city. This city was massive, originally holding millions of citizens. However, after a certain cataclysm, 99.99% of the population was wiped out, leaving only a couple survivors. Those survivors soon blossomed into the Families seen in the present time.

Geography

The explored portions of the Hard Lands are almost completely flat, with occasional rises and divots in the ground. There are periodic structures within the Hard Lands that rise from the ground, some high and some mere waist height. Other claims by explorers are that some of the spires hide entrances to large underground systems hiding Terran wonders, though these claims are treated with disdain and disbelief.

Fauna & Flora

The only seen living things that reside in the Hard Lands are some forms of vines, a few types of trees, and grass.
