The City of Wasted Riches

The last known civilization from Tremors Edge to Kartoresh when traveling the most eastern coast of the Rippling Sands desert. Uthuk is not what you would label a "civil" city or place of hospitality. Known for its back-alley policing and in the streets form of governing, Uthuk is home to some of the most hardened inhabitants you will find. Uthuk began as an oasis for those seeking shelter in the year 196 T.S., founded by a desert shaman named Uthuk Hatszu "The Wasteland Walker" and his companions. After they stumbled across rich sands of "Arcane Stone". Word quickly spread that the area contained this valuable substance, and not soon after many would come to claim it...and Uthuk was established. This quick growth brought many beings of all types, but mostly marauders, poachers and low life survivalists who would try and lay stake to their own wealth of Arcane Stone. The plentiful sands, much like the water supply of the Uthuk population would soon dry up of the Arcane Stone after just 60 years due to this quick neglect. The sands of the area still sprout the occasional dose of Arcane Stone to keep Uthuk from becoming desolate yet again, but the riches have nearly dried up for completely.
The inhabitants of Uthuk find themselves bound to the area not just because of the vast surrounding desert and harsh environment, but also by the stranglehold of the raiding pack The Sun Kins. The Sun Kins came to Uthuk in the year 220 T.S. to also mine and claim what they could of the Arcane Stone, but after noticing that the current civilians of Uthuk were weaker and not trained to defend themselves, the Sun Kin pack began to take whatever it is they wanted by any means necessary. Even eventually killing the now elderly shaman Uthuk Hatszu and his followers. No one knows who the leader of this violent raiding pack is, as they seem to strike fear into any who dare challenge their position. But you can easily spot any of their members by the bright yellow turbans and garments the wear and the lisp of their language. Uthuk's existence is very limited, but so long as the occasional Arcane Stone appearance occurs, the area will continue to be a lingering wort in the desert of the Rippling Sands.

Demographics

The population of Uthuk is comprised of mostly humans, but many other races are known to be present such as orcs, dragonborn and githyanki. What is almost never seen in Uthuk however are dwarves, halflings and elves.

Government

Not much of a government is upheld in current Uthuk, an almost anarchy style of existence is present. The one determining factor of who is in charge of Uthuk belongs to the Sun Kins.

Industry & Trade

Very little to trade or industry is found here anymore, the once grand and lush sands of Arcane Stone have nearly dried up. Yet somehow the occasional bloom of the precious substance can be found, keeping Uthuk populated for the time being. Other than Arcane Stone, the selling and trading of purified water is like a goldmine in the city. If you do possess such water, it would quickly bring you a small wealth...but be weary it also can cost you your life.

Architecture

The city and the structures within it are built mostly of clay and adobe, some sand and granite can also be found as integrity to the structures of the buildings and walls.
