History

Rogarth was born 33 years before the opening of the Dark Portal, as the oldest of three sons of Gorm Bloodforge, a somewhat renowned Blacksmith of his clan. Rogarth was a member of the Bleeding Hollow Clan, living out the early years of his life a small village in Southern Tanaan.   Part of the first failed attack on Stormwind, Rogarth was taken captive by the Humans. His captor, a noble named Blake Giley, secretly took Rogarth to his manor in Lordaeron shortly before the razing of Stormwind. Here, Rogarth learned much of the humans, who learned more of the Orcish way of life in return, as well as getting to know the Lord's adopted son, Darion, whom Rogarth later learned had lost his biological parents in a raid he had been part of. Giley would later be executed for treason when Rogarth was discovered living among his household. Rogarth was then sent to one of the internment camps in the region.   Rogarth would later join the newly formed Horde, fighting under Warchief Thrall's command before and during the Legion's second invasion. He lost his mate, whom he met after their escape from the camps, and newborn son on the voyage from the Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor. After the invasion was repeled, he would dedicate himself fully to the construction effort of Orgrimmar, and take up work as a Blacksmith. He adopted a young orphaned Orc girl, Karra'gal, after she had shown interest in his work, and some resourcefulness in keeping herself alive despite the odds against her. She became his apprentice in the following years.

Siege of Orgrimmar

Rogarth's relatively peaceful life within the walls of Orgrimmar came to an abrupt end following Garrosh Hellscream's absolute takeover of the Horde, being forced to craft weapons and armor for his new army under the threat of execution. Prior to the siege, Rogarth, Karra, and others working with them, were rescued from the city by an adventurer working with the Darkspear Rebellion.

Warlords of Draenor

Some time after this, Rogarth went on a journey across Kalimdor, leaving the workshop to his daughter, and eventually met and joined the Ironhide Warband, a group within the Horde's army. At this point being an elderly warrior, the group found his knowledge of Draenor useful when the Iron Horde threatened Azeroth, as they were sent to battle in a familiar yet much different world. He did however end up spending most of the time in the Warband's Garrison, using his skills as a Blacksmith to craft and maintain his allies' gear.   At one point, during an expedition to Gorgrond, Rogarth was separated from his unit and left wandering the waste for two weeks. When he was later found, to everyone's surprise, he had abandoned most of his armor and his greataxe, instead wearing scraps of leather and a pair of blades stolen from a nearby Blackrock outpost, almost appearing like he had gone back to his Bleeding Hollow roots.   Upon reaching the alternate timeline's Tanaan, Rogarth was surprised to find that in the swamp where his village had been in the original, there was no trace of there ever having been a village. Despite being explained that the village had likely never existed in this timeline, Rogarth was still greatly disturbed, thinking that it had been totally destroyed by the Iron Horde.

Legion

Returning to Azeroth after the Burning Legion's defeat on Draenor, Rogarth was allowed to take a leave from the Warband, and returned to Orgrimmar for some time. The return of the Legion however did not make it a pleasant stay. Returning to his workshop, he once again dedicated himself to the Horde effort by supporting the troops with weapons and armor alongside his daughter. While personally delivering supplies to Dalaran, Rogarth was approached by the Warband's leader and offered a place with them once more to fight back against the Legion in the Broken Isles. Taking up the offer, despite his age, he returned to the battlefield with his comrades and fought well for some time.   During one assault on a Legion encampment however, Rogarth was severely wounded by a Felguard's fiery attack. While he shrugged it off at the time, the wounds became infected by the fel, and, despite any healer's best efforts, ended up corrupting his body, eventually making him too frail to do battle. He returned to Orgrimmar, once again dedicating himself to his work as a Blacksmith, though weakening significantly every day.

Death and Rebirth - Shadowlands

Despite holding of the corruption for much longer than anyone expected, Rogarth eventually succumbed at the end of the Fourth War. With his death, Karra fully took over the workshop in Orgrimmar.   However, with a new generation of Death Knights being raised by the former Lich King, Rogarth was given a new chance at a honorable (true) death by an old ally, though his resurrection has been a secret to most of his former comrades and relatives. Now part of the Ebon Blade, he uses his skills as a warrior and craftsman to aid them in the Shadowlands.
